How to book using Disney Dollars?

I have quite a few Disney Dollars from using my Visa card. I'm planning on going to DW in November, and will be accumulating more DD until then. How do I book my reservations now so that I will able to use those DD that I earn between now and my trip?

We used Disney VISA rewards points to pay for our last trip - you can use the Disney Rewards card direct with Disney (CRO) or a Disney travel agent as payment, just like a regular credit card. I'm not sure if all travel agents do this, ours was a Mousefan Travel Agent so she was happy to do it. Can someone clarify this - for example can you use the Disney Rewards card to book through AAA? I'm thinking you can, since they are just the go-between to CRO. We had a package, so I used the Rewards points for the deposit, and then waited til the last mintue to pay the balance when it was due, so I could transfer as many VISA points to the Rewards Card as possible. Inevitably, you will accumulate VISA points after your last payment is due, so you can't apply them to your final payment. We had about 100 points after the last payment was made, so we used that as souvenir money in the parks or for snacks.

I just re-read that & it seems confusing, but I know what I'm trying to say! It's just coming out as a run-on sentence. PM me if you need clarification!

So basically what you're saying is that I need to go ahead and request a card with the current balance of my Disney Dollars and make by reservations using that card. Then right before I go, request another one with the DD I have accumulated since now, right?

You will not have to request a second card. Just transfer reward $$ to it from the Web site. The reward card will have an expiration date. Make sure any $$ you transfer to it is used prior to the expiration date. I beleieve they are good for about 2 years. Even if you empty the rewards card you can reload it when you earn more!

Just to clarify, I think you want to refer to them as Disney Reward Dollars and not just Disney Dollars.

Disney Dollars are Disney money, like monopoly money, which you would buy to use later or many people give them to their kids for Disney spending money.

Disney Rewards you earn by using your Disney Visa card.

Yes everyone is correct -

You only request the Disney VISA Dollars Reward Card once - takes about 1-2weeks to come in the mail, with your current Rewards Dollars balance. As you accumulate more Disney Rewards Dollars you can transfer them to that same card through the Chase/Disney website, they will be on the card in 24 hours. So go ahead now & request your initial Disney VISA Rewards Card. Then wait until a few days before your final payment is due, then transfer all that you have to pay off as much as you can. After that, just transfer the rest of the points to the card to use as a credit card inside the resorts or hotels. I'm looking at my card right now that we used in December & it says expires 12/07, so I had 1 year to use the points put on the card.

Also yes, Disney Dollars are something else, like gift certificates I believe.
