I won a trip to WDW and received my papers today to fill out for them to book our airfare etc...problem is we are going 3 months after the baby I am pregnant with is born. I am not due till Sept and we are going in December.
The problem lies where I want to book a seat for my infant, but at this point we dont know if it is a girl or boy so we dont have a name at this point and the airfare must be booked by March 31st....any idea how they would go about this? tia!

The best bet would be to contact either your travel agent, prize sponsor or the airline you're travelling on directly, I would think one of them would be able to help.

Pick a name... any name (just remember what it is! LOL!)

They don't require ID for babies so how will they know that Julie is really James....

LOL ty!
I am just going nuts about this for some reason and have called and emailed the lady at WDW who is handling the contest but havent heard back yet. I am just an obsessive planner and for some reason am so worried about this lol.As DH says,I need to control my hormones lol.

You won't go wrong with just "Baby" as the first name, either. That always gets a smile from the gate agents.

LOL!That is EXACTLY what DH said to put!

As long as you are actually purchasing a seat for the child, it doesn't matter what the name is; you just need to use something as a placeholder: "Baby" is good because you can remember it. Ticketed babies don't need any ID on domestic flights. [Lap children do often need official proof of age, but then you wouldn't be needing to purchase a ticket -- Catch-22 that for once makes life easier rather than harder!].

Note that for international flights, you really do need a real name, because you have to have a passport for the baby (or a special intl. transit permit for a child being adopted.) I've known a couple of babies that were named "Chris" for just this reason.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

We went through this in December of '05...booked our flights in July for our December trip...baby wasn't due until October. We booked using "baby" then as soon as she was born we called the airline gave her name and DOB to the airline and there was no problem or charges for the change. We used JetBlue for our flights.

Hope this helps.

you don't pay air for children under 2 i believe

You do pay if you want a reserved seat for a child under 2. If you hold a child under 2 on your lap, then you don't have to pay.

(Let's please not turn this into the "is it safe to fly with a baby on my lap thread"!) :thumbsup2

WELL IT DIDNT MATTER IN THE END.........according to the Disney rep, they can ( I think it is more like wont) not book my my unborn child a seat at this point, she said the only way would be to book the child once it is born and we can't wait that long as everything must be booked by March 31st and if it isnt we forfeit the prize. She said they canl put it on as a lap child after he/she is born because it does not change my ressie technically. So what we are doing is taking our neice who lives with me most of the time and DD and we will book the baby a seat of its own on our own and pay out of pocket once they let us know what airline we are booked on....all works out in the end I guess.
