How to block certian websites like myspace?

Is there a way to block certian websites like myspace without buying extra software? Is there anything in internet tools? Thanks!

Most internet providers have a way to block sites and use parental controls. How to do it depends on who you use - aol, msn, etc.

If you are speaking of your home computer, and you want to completely block it (for everyone, not just some users), you can email the site's webmaster and ask that your IP address be blocked. They will usually do it if you request it in writing, though their may be an automatic expiration on the block, which would mean having to write again every so often.

We had a hard time blocking access so instead we installed a keystroke logger.

If you have McAfee virus scan, there is a parental control part of that you can download. Once you download it, you just type in the site and it will block it. You have to have the user acct(s) set to limited for it to block. If you are set to computer admin it will not block it.

A while back we installed a porn blocker that was highly recommended. It frequently blocked news sites...they must have used certain forbidden words on certain days.

My favorite, however, was that we couldn't get on the GK website to order new gymnastics leotards....I mean, it did have pictures of scantily clad girls, but c'mon!
