How to become a travel agent?

Hi everyone,
I just recently finished college with two BAs- Theatre (technical) and Government & International Politics. Right now i'm working as the Assistant Stage Manager in a 2,000-seat "Roadhouse" type theater, but I've been feeling for a while now that I'm not cut out for this work permanently. I want to have a family eventually, and I'd love to have a more predictable schedule than theatre allows.
After some soul-searching, DBF pointed out a fairly obvious thing for me to look into. I've been planning disney trips and other vacations since I was 10- I could give my father driving directions to the All Star Resorts from the airport off the top of my head that first trip, having never set foot south of Pennsylvania. I've always loved planning trips both for myself and others, and I'd really love to become a travel agent.
How does one do this? I'm hoping that my two BAs will be enough, with maybe a couple supplemental classes.

I would call AAA they seem more stable when it comes to travel agents. My gf is one and the problem is that business has dropped off considerably and they look for it to become even less in the future. The reason is the internet. People can and do find their own deals and for a lot less than a travel agent. At least if you work for a company like AAA you will have benefits and most likely some job security. I bet they could steer you in the right direction and might even have a course for you to take.
