Last time we pretty much ate in DTD exclusively. Never again - it was a pain to run to ressies everytime.

I'd like to give Cafe Orleans, Carnation Cafe....maybe a few others I can't think of a try next time.

What are the waits like (I know hi/lo season is a factor) at these places? When does it die down to a quick service? I'd gladly eat a meal later if i could get it faster. ;)

We always went to full service eateries so we COULD get our food in a timely manner w/o lines.....but after last time I'd like to try something new.

As long as you don't eat right around noon or so, you should be OK. We've never made reservations at Carnation Cafe and never had to wait long to eat.

We normally don't make any PSs and just eat counter service. We either ate lunch around 11am or 1pm to avoid the noon rush. Places we liked were Bengal BBQ, Whitewater Snacks, and Taste Pilot's Grill to name a few. Sometimes we just had an ice cream cone for dinner.

This trip we are making two PSs. One for Steakhouse 55 and the other for Cafe Orleans. I don't know what the line is like at CO without a PS because we haven't tried that. I was always under the impression that it was pretty busy during the summer. Otherwise, we really didn't want to be tied to running off to eat at certains times either. And we have always found good places. Sometimes it was just something near by. :)

I like to make one PS a day. That way I know we get one relaxing meal and then we do a counter service or some snacks for the other meal. We eat breakfast on the way to the parks- granola bars, bagels, bananas.

When DD and I go in August, we are going to do Minnie's for brunch. We will also do Blue Bayou, Cafe Orleans, and either Carnation Cafe or Wine Country Tratorria.

Definitely make PS for Carnation Cafe. WE did it for lunch and it was one of the best meals we ate. The baked potato soup is amazing. I wish I got a bowl instead of a cup.

Also, someone mentioned Wine Country Tratorria. This is also an amazing place. The food is delicious. Mmmmm, vegetable lasagna. We sat near the wall and could watch the sights while we ate. I would make PS there also.

Another place that was very good was the River Belle Terrace in DL in Frontierland/New Orleans Square. Wonderful food. No PS's here. We didn't have a wait as it is cafeteria style with plenty of inside and outside seats.
