How To Be In Parade??

Was wondering how you can get the chance to ride in the parade in the MK? Have 5yo twins celebrating their Birthday and would love to surprise them. What is the procedure? Thanks in advance fro all your help.

I don't think there is a sure fire way. First of all I would get your children birthday pins. If at all possible get in the park early with PS before the park opens. We were picked one year. I had my Birthday pin on, my dh and I both had on Xmas mickey hats and we were in the park early for the keys to the kingdom tour. We decided to walk up main street for some pictures when we were approached and asked to be in the parade. Good luck.

There is no "procedure" -- it's done totally at random. Unless there is a mitigating reason (the child is a 'Give Kids the World' kid; the person is a local hero, etc), there is no way to sign up in advance to ride in the parade.

But, as an earlier poster said, be at the MK early, have the twins dressed in something particularly cute, with birthday buttons on. The CMs who choose the grand marshalls are milling about at the start of the day, and they take notice of families that seem to be having fun, who are appropriately dressed (no halter tops, short shorts, obnoxious t-shirts), and who seem like they'd be outgoing and bubbly in a parade situation.

You might also get picked to "open the park" if it's not an EE day. That could be fun too!

They also don't pick families with strollers. You have to get on the float near Splash Mountain and you get off at Main Street. They don't want to deal with transporting or leaving a stroller. These children may also be too small to ride.
