Go to the pharmacy and buy a product called moleskin. It's with the foot products. It's a cloth like product - same substance as the stuff to put on your feet for callouses. It's sticky on one side - you tape it to your foot where you are apt to get blisters.
I found that the trick for me was wearing very comfortable socks with my sneakers. They were some sort of wicking socks and somehow I never even got those hot spots that can turn into blisters. We did bring moleskin though just in case...
I have read on here countless times about spraying or applying antiperspirant to your feet and how it works like a charm regarding prevention of blisters. I'm going next week and I will be applying antiperspirant and moleskin in an effort to thwart those little buggers. Good luck!
If anyone has luck with the antiperspirant let me know. I started to get blisters on the bottom of my feet when I was at Disney in Dec and got them again in May in the same spot. I would like to prevent that this trip. Not that the blisters slowed me down - I just ignored them and went on with visiting the parks!!
We wear nice cushy socks and put powder in them. We also wear our most comfortable broken-in sneakers, and if we start to get blisters we put bandaids on the area right away. Good Luck!!
Every foot is different and takes different measures to prevent blisters.
I've tried just about every tip I've read on here (except duct tape! there is NO WAY I would try it!!) and after trying them each, I found what worked for me.
I've been 7 times and finally didn't have blisters for the last 3 trips.
These are the tips I've read about and tried:
Cool max socks
Good walking sneakers
Teva Sandals
Teva flip flops
alternating shoes
moleskins
antipersperant
vaciline
Bodyglide
Blistershield
Avon anti-blister balm
Peppermint cream
Motrin for swelling and pain
soaking feet each night
This is what has worked for me: Motrin each morning; Bodyglide on my feet to prevent friction/hot spots; moleskins for hot spots; Teva Pretty Rugged sandals or my Ecco Cosmos sandals; alternating my shoes; soaking my feet at the end of the day; peppermint cream before I go to bed.
I also use Blistershield or the Avon anti-blister balm for my feet sometimes but mostly for the chafing between my legs. They are all great. Vaciline works in the same way if you want a cheap alternative.
I had no success with the antipersperant, the walking sneakers or the cool max socks. I always still had the hot spots from the socks.
Every foot is different and it takes trial and error to figure what will work for you. Good luck!

haha I tried duct tape, here, around the house just to see what it was like. I can definitely see why it would work, but I have tried several of the other things on this site as well. I am going to go with the bodyglide applied to my feet and bring moleskin for just in case and oh yeah. I have even gotten a pair of crocs which I have been wearing around the house. I can see why people love those as well and I will definitely be wearing them in the parks. I figure my skull tatoos will counter balance my feminine looking shoes LOL.
Your shoes need to be well broken in. Also after using them for a few weeks for all day at work and at home wear, keeping them on around the house too, you should have a feel as to whether they are not likely to give you blisters.
Get really comfortable shoes MONTHS ahead of time to break them in. Realize that it is worthwhile to make a big investment of cash for the right shoes. Also know that what works for the masses may not be the shoe for you! For example: Tevas don't work for me bc I'm too wide in the toes. I spent $65 on BITE Footwear's Enerstrap sandals (very ugly but comfy!) and $90 on a pair of ECCO tennis shoes in the Mobile style. Sounds like a lot of money right? Well my 39 year old brother wore $20-$30 sandals, got blisters, kept walking in pain and got home to feet that had lost their arch! Its been two weeks, he has to stay off his feet, wear splints and get special shoes and inserts. He will hopefully be back to work in ANOTHER week. Me on the other hand -not a blister or any soreness what so ever! I think I saved money compared to my brother! Order a bunch of shoes off of Zappos and return the ones that don't work. Remember that they will match competitors prices plus a percentage!
I brought moleskin, but never needed to use it. I also recommend the cool max socks -got mine at Target.

I only read your post. My daughter and I wear flip flops to the parks. I got tired of wearing shoes with socks on! It is way too hot in July and August to be wearing closed toes. No blisters... my feet are breathing.. and no sweaty smelly socks!! My son likes to wearing open toe sandals. It works for him!
Last year I had newer Teva sandals and a 2 year old pair of Rockport sandals. Did the Tevas for 2 days; the Rockports for 2 days, then alternated them for the rest of the week. I had one tiny blister on the ball of my left foot by day 6 but no other problems.
