How to "attract" the Dream crew?

Our first trip to DL will be in April... and I am about to EXPLODE with excitement... would love to catch some kind of "dream experience" while I'm there... how can a first-timer catch the eye of one of the Dream Crew without making a ******* of himself?

From what I've read, the Dream moments are all random, and computer-generated. The computer will say "at x time be at x location, and the first x people get x". :) Or they will be directed to the exit from Maliboomer at a certain time, so anyone exiting the ride will get dream ears or something like that.

On the other hand, there are people who give out Magical Moments, and we got one of those (special seating at a Billy and the Hillbillies show) because we smiled at a CM and said hi to her. But for an actual Dream, that's not supposed to work, and in fact people have tried, but if they haven't been directed to give something out at that time, they can't.

It's not a matter of attracting their attention, it's a matter of being in the right place at the right time. They have instructions like: "Go into the exit of Small World. At precisely 10:22 a.m., hand out Dream Fastpasses until 10:25 a.m."

That's just an example. The instructions are strict about the timing and even where they can stand. One CM we saw said they were not allowed to move from their spot until they were done, because one woman wanted them to run over and give an award to her DH standing in line for a ride; the CMs couldn't.

I think your best bet would be to stay in the parks as long as you can, and to keep your eyes peeled! Good luck! :thumbsup2

PS. We got dreamed TWICE on our last trip in october. Won Dream Mickey Ears and Dream Fastpasses! It was awesome!

Bumber, are the Magical Moments folks dressed like the Dream Team? Or are they just random CMs who were asked to give out some fun perk to whomever they wish?

Very cool on your Magical Moment! :thumbsup2

The sad part about our Moment was that we couldn't do it. We tried, but it was for a specific time (4pm), and we found ourselves entering DL just as the "3:30" parade was making its way to the end (start?) of Main Street (so it was more like 3:45, 3:50 at the time). DH hadn't yet seen the holiday parade and we made the decision to watch the parade instead of fight our way to the Billy show where we might be too late to be seated.

We enjoyed the parade, but it was more magical at night (I had seen it before DH arrived), and when I came back I found out just how popular Billy etc are, and we were bummed we didn't do it.

As for the CM, she *looked* like a dream team member. And she was just standing there near the partners statue, just hanging out. But I've read that the dream team "costumes" are different now from what I got used to seeing in September, so I don't really know if she was a dream team person. She wasn't doing any other job, though...and she had a big supply of certificates in her bag. She might have been a DT member without an actual dream to give at the moment, but since we said "hi" and were smling so early in the morning*, she decided to MM us (Ok why so many MMs from disney?)

* she did tell us that most Dreams are given in the morning. So the earlier you get to the parks the better!

And I've read of many ears/lanyards given out in the Tiki room courtyard to those coming out, and also to people passing through a little passageway near Rancho del Zocalo. I plan to pass through over there several times. :)

MAN! We passed through there like 25 times our last trip! And each time it was SO empty and I kept thinking "this would be a PERFECT place for the DT to dream us!!" But of course not.. :confused3

I think I know who you're talking about.. From what I understand, these guys are apart of the Dream Team also, but the only ones that pass out fast passes/ears are the ones with white vests. As for attracting these guys attention, it's totally possible. I've seen on three occasions kids bawling at the top of their lungs because they were upset or cranky about something and one of these dream team members would go and give them a fast pass. Um.. So get your child to cause a scene...?

:lmao:

The certificates that the folks giving out the Magical Moments hand you do say "Dream Squad", so I'd guess they are part of the Dream Team.

The duo that gave me the Magical Moment certificate (I got the Billy show too, and it was great) was wearing blue vests.

I've said in another thread, I didn't even realize that they were the Dream Squad. They were standing on the steps near Tom Sawyer's Island at around 10 AM and they attracted my attention with their pin lanyards rather than the other way round. I got the certificate after chatting to them for a bit and basically acting like a 3 year old high on sugar. But being polite helps I think. The female CM was fascinated by one of my pins from Paris and I made a point in trading that one with her.

We've had a few "magic moments" granted to us and I think it was simply because DD was dressed up as a princess!

Yep, you are right on target.

I found my certificate and was coming here to post just that! :) I wish we had gone, it was a decision that we knew there was no "right" answer to, so we went with the most expedient one (a questionable way to decide things). So now we MUST see the show, next time we're all there.
