How terrible is Labor Day weekend at Disney?

We used to go this time of year before Covid. The weekend was busier but not horrible. Outside of the weekend it wasn't bad. It was one of our favorite times to go. It was much better then when we went the last week of March for the kids spring break. So many less people around Labor Day. I am not sure if this have changed since Covid though.

Labor Day weekends cause us major nightmares, but that's just unlucky for us. Last 2 trips we did over Labor Day, we were impacted by hurricanes! The good news for you is that WE won't be there over Labor Day anytime soon, so you should be fine with the weather!!

Agree with piglet1979 - seems like later in August into early September might be the only slightly down times you can count on anymore..... even post-pandemic.

Going the 7th of September, hoping to miss the weekenders for Labor day and hoping the crowds are low with school having just started!

It was always one of our favorite 3 day weekends to go because it was lower crowds. We hit Epcot every single Labor Day. Unfortunately, new AP's now block it out :(

We went last year on Labor Day weekend. Totally doable. Go early. I will say our one lesson was to NOT do MK the day before a party day. Last year we went the Sunday before Labor Day as there was a Halloween party the Friday before and on Labor day. I knew to avoid MK on Saturday and scheduled for Sunday. WRONG. It was packed. Turns out, even if they close MK early for the MSSHP you're better off doing MK that day. Monday - Labor Day - wait times were SOO low. Yes you will risk hurricane weather. But normally the weather overall is very nice in Sept. Good Luck!

The weekend will likely be busier than other days around that time of year but, one of the least busy holidays to visit WDW.

I’ve been going to WDW over Labor Day weekend for years. Best holiday weekend if you’re prepared to handle the heat.

We always go Labor Day weekend and stay for a week. Cheap DVC point season, not as many kids because it’s their first week(s) of school. Last year (2022) Monday was dead at Magic Kingdom. The downside is that it’s very hot.

Labor Day weekend + MK on a party day was fun in 2022. I rode Space several times as a total walk on - to the point that LL took longer since you have to scan twice. Lol

Compared to a normal weekend and Monday, much busier. Compared to other 3 day Holidays, its not as busy. If you go in with a plan, and expect it to be crowded, you should be fine.
