We are at Disney for a week in August 2023 after a 6 year break! :love:Our party consists of:

- My 19 year old son and his gf - really Go-getters they chose the 5 day hopper! Good for them.. we did that when we were young 30 something parents and the kids were little.. go on a ride and wake up..
- Me and my wife (long time Disney fans but in our mid 50s) - 4 day base ticket ... I want some pool time and relaxation time.
- My single-mom (who is very budget constrained) can only afford a 2 day base ticket with her 1 year old son.. she wants to hit her favorites
- NOTE: We are all going to MNSSHP (1/2 way in our trip).

The problem... the 2 day base ticket reservation only covers a few days.. so technically my daughter CAN NOT spread out her 2 day base ticket reservation...
Do we have to update our schedule/reservations to cover her plans or should I call Disney to have them extend the period?

PS. I DO NOT LIKE THIS RESERVATION SYSTEM! BRING BACK USE TICKET 14 DAYS after first use! >:( Rant over...

thoughts? Thanks for your help!!!

She has four days to use a two-day ticket - four days from whatever start date she chose. After that the ticket expires; the only way that ticket would retain value is if it were never activated. She would need another ticket to enter the parks after that four-day period. The 4-day, 4-park is a better deal than a 2-day base ticket and is good for seven days after the start date. Disney will very likely not extend her ticket.

Potential option:

With a 1-year-old, your daughter could skip the party and use the money toward boosting her ticket to four days.
The party is fun, but if I could pick more days I would do it every time.

I would try to get her the four days somehow, but in the end, just have a great time!

Purchasing 2 one day tickets is often on par to purchasing a 2 day ticket so she needs to price out the cost of purchasing 2 one day tickets. The price for a one day ticket cahanges based on which park she wants to go to.

As others have shared, the window a ticket can be used is strictly enforced as there are other options available (2 1-day tickets).

Something that hasn’t been discussed, are you staying onsite or offsite?

I've never heard of Disney extending the use window. So a 4-day span is not enough?

If there is no way around it, have her buy 2 one-day tickets. The price is very comparable, sometimes even less if she picks her park days strategically.

Or skip the Halloween party, and get the 4-day, 4-park ticket, to have much more time in the parks.

Assuming getting her a 4 day ticket is not an option then ...

Either change your park days to work within the ticket time frame.
OR
Buy two one day tickets, the cost isn't much different.

Thank you everyone! The MNSSHP ticket has already been purchased so there is no going back on that. I will recommend if she is going to do just 2 days then to purchase them separately.

It would be cheaper for her to buy the 4-day ticket and just not use two days as long as she didn’t want to revisit one of the parks since you can only do each park once with that ticket.

No it wouldn't.

The 4-day ticket is $421.74.

A 2-day ticket in September costs between $236.49 and $307.97, depending on the date.

I was referring to the 4-park, 4 day ticket at $396, but you are correct. It would be cheaper. I’m not sure what prices I was looking at (or maybe it’s the fact that I had a 5am flight this morning and am running on fumes.) Regardless, thanks for pointing that out for the OP!

Just to clarify… tickets are a separate thing from theme park reservations, except if buying 1-day base tickets or the special 4-day Magic ticket. There is no such thing as a 2-day base ticket reservation. She will need 2 separate theme park reservations for the specific dates and specific parks.

Others are correct about the use-window of a 2-day ticket vs buying 2 separate 1-day tickets depending on the length of your trip.

No problem, I've been there!

The price I quoted for the special 4-day ticket was with sales tax.
