Can I suggest Teva sandals in the summer? Teva's are made to get wet and dry fast! On top of that, when I wore Teva's my feet hurt the least of any time I have ever been to Disneyland!
They are made for hiking, so they have great grip as well.

First two get really wet, but it's not uncomfortable if it's sunny and you stay outside for a few hours afterwards.
Don't make the same mistake as me and eat at the Blue Bayou soon afterwards. I got sick before the fireworks.

My kids are still relatively young and they prefer to sit in the front. They almost always get soaked. I find that I get least wet sitting in the very back. We go several times throughout the year and I have found this to be generally true regardless of time of year.

Does Splash Mountain at DLR have the water cannons on the drop that shoot water right in your face? I hate those at WDW! The "natural" splashes from the ride are enough. They don't need to shoot it at you!

No water cannons. Its all just splashes from the log in the water.

My tricks for staying as dry as possible are keeping my feet up off the floor whenever possible and also at the end of any drops I duck under the person in front of me (I'm barely 5'1 so most people are taller than me) and let the water go OVER me. It usually works pretty well! :umbrella:

I don't like having wet feet either! So I shove my feet up high under the handles on the sides of the logs.....and I usually get the most wet on the little drops too, especially inside before the bunny hill part that you see Brer bears rear end (anyone else ever notice you see Brer Bear's rear end a lot on this attraction?). With my DS5, we ride in the very back double wide seat. We never get wet! But he decided he wanted to ride with his dad, and they got super wet in the very back seat and my DS5 was not too happy ;)

I second this! I bought a pair of Tevas for my May trip and they were AWESOME! I got SOAKED from head to toe on GRR and my Tevas were still fine to walk around in. I just wore them four days straight in the parks this week and they were soooo comfortable. They are my go-to Disney shoes from now on!

I find if I sit closer to the back, tuck up my feet under the sides and hide behind DH I can stay relatively dry on that big drop! I like the ride, I hate getting wet...

Too funny cause when we went 2 yrs ago, dd was 5 and my bff's son was 3. All they could talk about after SM was "I saw the bear's butt!" They still talk about it and Splash was dd fave ride. She can't wait to go back this year and ride it. Hopefully ds (4) will want to give it a go.

Oh and we sat in the very back and dd got absolutely soaked! I guess it all depends.

If you want to stay dry, ride with me because I ALWAYS get soaked. Front, back, middle it doesn't matter, lol!

I also hate walking around wet shoes and socks. I always wear running shoes/socks and if my feet get wet on splash I go over to the back side of the hungry bear deck and take my shoes and socks off and let them dry in the sun for about 20 minutes.

As others have said, it depends on the weighting of the boat.

The first time we went the boat was a lot heavier and we got soaked. I think we actually got the wettest after the smaller drop - we seemed to get down fine and then a few seconds later the boat started filling with water. Here is a visual aid to assist in seeing my wetness (and those were brand new jeans - my legs were blue for a couple of days!).

The second time it was just the 3 of us. While we wore ponchos that time (as we were getting on a 15 hour flight later that day) they were totally dry when we got off!

My experience is that it is always different! I have literally walked off the ride like 95% dry and other times like 45% dry! I agree with what most are saying and that it really depends on the weight of the boat. For me ... it's usually just enough water to make it fun and not uncomfortable! :)

Rode 3 times last week, usually in third or fourth seat. Didn't get very wet. Front two got pretty wet.
