How soon before we travel can we expect to recieve our documents from Disney. We are sailing on August 22nd but we leave the UK on the 19th August for 2 weeks with a stay at the All Star Sports for 3 days before and 7 days after cruise. The cruise is a suprise for my dd who will be 14 on the 17th August and I am hoping she will not find out about the cruise until we get there. Do I have to fill out any forms on the flight over to say I am crusing or can I do that aboard ship.
Would be grateful for any response.

Hi...welcome to the cruise board!!!!!

Cruise documents usually come 3 to 4 weeks before the cruise and sometimes sooner, sometimes a bit later....

They usually come via United Parcel Service to the states, but to the UK, not sure what company would be used....but they are not boldly marked CRUISE DOCUMENTS or anything so I don't think it would spoil the surprise if she saw the package.....unless she read the return address from DCL.

It's a tough question because I am not sure how it is handled with overeas passengers.

I am sure another disboard member who has travelled from the UK could answer better than I.

Again, welcome to the cruise board...you will find tons of information on everything regarding DCL!!!! WELCOME!!!

mmouse37 -Thank you very much for your reply. Hopefully as you suggested somebody who has travelled from the UK before can clear this up for me.

Hi florida sun and welcome to the Cruise Board! We're from the UK also and have done 3 DCL cruises with #4 coming up on August 14th (we will just miss you - you sail day after we disembark! We've got 4 nights at Royal Pacific @ Universal after).

In the past, we've received our docs about a month before the cruise and they've come via FedEx. As MMouse37 mentioned, they don't scream "DCL" at you until you open the package.

In the package, there are some forms which you have to complete before you board the ship but that can be done at any time before you get to the terminal and when DD isn't around! There aren't any forms which your DD will have to complete - you can sign on her behalf as she's under 16.

Hope you have a fantastic time and feel free to ask if you have any more questions

As far as I read I couldnt see if you booked direct with USA or a UK tour operator.

If you booked through a UK brouchure or travel agency the docs will go to them first and they will send on to you.

I had this before, I did receive my documents about 4 /5 weeks in advance, but as they were bulky they ended up at the post office for collection!

If under a tour operator likly to be swapped into their own envelopes etc.

Diane, Royal pacific is excellent and a top hotel you will love it, my kids enjoyed the character meals there with scooby doo and Flinstones.

A nice boat trip to the parks, and you get first in line access,

The pool area is more like a small lagoon, and the kids have a water area like a sinking ship!

If you booked thru DCL directly, the docs will come to you about 4-5 weeks ahead. In the US, they come by FedEx, so they have to be signed for.....the only kicker is that if you booked the air thru DCL, they come much later (like 2 weeks ahead).

My suggestion would be to call or e-mail customer service at DCL and let them know your departure date. That way, you are sure that the docs will reach you on time.
