We have tooooooo many charters in our area. Actually all in our city. I was on a rampage about it on another thread! We probably have 20 right here, not exaggerating. They have all opened up in the last 5 years, and more keep coming. There is supposed to be a limit to them, but it appears it is only a statewide limit.cheeks605 said:It's so wonderful that you have a date range in mind! And it's the perfect date for a teacher. I work in a charter school. It's in the city, and it's similar to a private school only it's funded by the government. Basically, if you know someone on the board, your child get in, otherwise you're on a waiting list.
Willow Grove is a great area. Nice neighborhoods and good schools. There has been a lot of talk in the local news about closing the willow grove base though. I don't know what the future hubby does in the service so I can't say for sure if his position will be in danger. But it is a fantastic area and only 15 min from where I grew up!
So sad to say this: what does DFB stand for?

BF is boyfriend, since we are still not engaged. He used to do his drill weekends in Willow Grove when he was in the Navy. I visited the area once and really liked it. Now he's in the Air National Guard. I know parts of the base are always threatening to close (so is ours here), but the Guard unit is hiring pilots. He is starting to look at units to apply to. It depends who hires him! Right now he's still not even certain that he will be accepted into the pilot training, but it has been his dream so he is pursuing it unless he hears differently. Right now he is leaning towards West Virginia, but it changes all the time and he still might stay here if they hire him. We're even talking about him going active duty for a few years. I'm willing to move further away if it's only temporary. It's all so uncertain! I will only go to certain states. I don't want to get too far away from my family. I've given him a range of 8 states that I am interested in. Plus I want to complete my tenth year here in teaching for my pension.
