I just booked our land/sea for Feb....how soon do I call the Poly with room requests?

I spoke with TA, she said she would take care of it...the Resort wouldn't even kknow we were coming to a few days before arrival anyway, but she would make sure they had the info.

I, of course, am going to call too....being the obsessive planner and new DIS that I am.

Requests are #1 Concierge, #2 connectting rooms, #3 top floor, #4 nice view.....in order of importance.

I'm not sure how land/Sea packages work but concierge (club level) is a paid category, not request, it is in the Hawaii longhouse - guaranteed. There are three floors in the longhouse. There are two view choices, lagoon or garden. (the views are also paid categories -garden is the least expensive) You will love the Poly!

The TA 'owns' your reservation until you check in; Disney won't discuss it with you. There's no point in calling CRO with your requests; you'll have to trust that the TA has taken care of it for you.

I don't know if it's any different with land/sea packages, but normally the reservation downloads to your resort a few days before your arrival. The Poly won't be able to see it until then.

Just sit tight, assume everything be fine, and if it makes you feel better, try calling the Poly a few days before your check-in date. You won't be speaking directly to the resort, but to a call center. They may be able to confirm your requests for you, but it's possible that they won't because you used a TA.

I know it's easy to say 'don't worry', but that's about all you can do. Remember, you can always discuss your room assignment with the cast member who's checking you in. If you're not happy with where they've put you, you can re-state your requests and they'll see what else is available.

Please remember what you are doing is making requests, and that things like connecting rooms and top floor are not guaranteed. I get so worried when I see posts like this, because I don't want someone to think that these things are a given when they are not. I requested third floor Raratonga last year, and got first floor Tokelau. Not what I wanted, but it ended up being a great room. This year my only request at POR was a room in the Bayou, and I was placed in the Mansions.

I just don't want you to be disappointed if you don't get everything you ask for.:)

I know requests are just that....There are no Concierge available for the week of our stay....TA has us wait listed or is keeping calling to bug them.

We really need the connecting rooms or else the 2 adults will have to split up...that would really stink. We booked 2 rooms for 5 people. Me, partner, 5 yr dd, 8 yr neice, and father-in-law who cannot be left alone...Alhzheimers. Truly I am looking forward to a glass of wine on the patio or balcony while all the responsibities sleep peacefully in the connecting room.

If we don't get 2 together we will have to cancel one and all stay togethet anyway. :confused3

Anyway fingers are crossed...it will all work out!

99.9% of the garden view rooms are beautiful - don't worry! - and the lagoon views are GORGEOUS!
