How soon do you pack for a trip?

My vacation starts in 2 months, 2 weeks, and 2 days (but whos counting? :rolleyes1 ) I've already starting pulling out my trading pins, and I just bought the cutest little swimsuite for Florida and this great tote bag. Disneyworld, here I come! :cool1:

I honestly dont think its ever too early to start packing! (By the way, this may be only my 3rd post, but I am officially hooked on the DIS! ;) )

for two weeks start packing the night before as we literally only take a back pack with 2 each of the essential items in. (shorts,t-shirts underwear and long trousers and one all-weather all-purpose jacket) the toiletries we buy in walmart, they are so cheap its not worth taking them with us! only 20 more weeks :Pinkbounc

I am leaving for Disney tomorrow and I haven't started packing at all yet. I hope I can get it all done in one night! :confused3 :confused3

I go to Disney tomorrow! YaY! :cool1: :sunny:  :cheer2: :cheer2: :yay:   :hourglass

I usually start packing in earnest around two weeks away from my vacation. I probably start "preliminary" packing thirty days out--gathering toiletries and making sure clothes and shoes fit.

I think this is the most excited our family's been over a Disney vacation. Maybe it's because my boys are older and realize where we're going but holy cow, I CAN'T WAIT! :goofy:

I'm packing for December 2006 in March!

This is what I do to make it more affordable.

Every week we buy something for our trip. Going during Christmas, We really need to do this!

We have a large group going this year. Eleven of us. We're renting a villa.

So Ive already bought:

Christmas orniments for everyone to hang on our lil tree
I made t-shirts for all the kids
plastic margaritta glasses for the pool (walmart)
pool toys
ziplocks
plasticwear
napkins
gladwear
cocktail napkins (with palm trees on them!)
christmas gifts for my bil & sil
disney dollars
plastic drinking glasses with lids and straws from the disney store (kids)

I have a huge Buy Early List!

We leave a week from tomorrow and I haven't got the suitcases out yet, but DD4 has hers out! I bought a bunch of new Spring clothes a few weeks back and have been buying things like sunscreen, glow sticks, sunglasses, etc in the past few weeks. Yesterday I wore my new sandals for the first time and now my feet hurt. UGH! (But it's been pouring down rain and cold so couldn't really wear them before now.)

Last night I made DD4 try on her swimsuits and Princess dresses to make sure they fit and were clean. DS6 has all of his vacation clothes folded and stacked on top of his dresser. DH will pack 5 minutes before we leave!!!

I have made a list of what I need to take. I think I'll start packing tonight!!

Going to WDW on 4/1-4/8 :cool1:

So for May 2006 trip, I started packing April 05. :rotfl2: My kids think I am hilarious!

I'm leaving for WDW tomorrow, but my stuff left today with DH in the camper (we're going to Fort Wilderness). Since the camper is just coming out of winter storage and needed to be fully stocked, I started packing early for me - 5 days ago. I also wanted to start early because I needed to inventory the kids' shorts, short sleeved shirts, sandals, etc. so I could buy new stuff if they'd outgrown what they wore last summer. I had the kids' stuff and almost everything else packed by last night, but I didn't pack my own clothes and throw them in until 10 minutes before I left for work this morning. I cannot imagine starting to pack 4 weeks ahead of time - I'm just not that organized.

I pack the day before. In fact, I am taking a vacation day from work just to pack.

I make lists, though, mental lists from when the trip is decided, and then pen and paper lists about two weeks before. Then I check off things as they are packed. The types of things I forget are things that are replaced regularly (moisturizer, deodorant, etc.) so I don't worry about having to stop at a Target to buy "more" if necessary. :teeth:

We leave in 13 days - so I guess I should get moving. :cool1: We have bought a few items..and I did check to see where our tickets were, I did transfer rewards to the Disney visa rewards card, and I have been wearing my new crocs sandles to break them in... thats about it. I think I have two choices since we are really busy with baseball tryouts, music concerts and work...I can pack or stay on the DIS boards :surfweb: ...hmmmm!!!!!! what to do.....?????? :confused3

Never fully unpack. Usually do laundry and start packin 3 days before we leave load most everything the night before. Tho that last few mins just before we leave we have to go thru gather up all meds and there always a other things that couldn't be packed sooner all of which fits in a walmart bag.

For me packing for disney is not the problem it's the many weekend and week trips DH and I take on Dyna that throws me for a loop. They all different. Sometimes take tent sometimes we stay with friends sometimes hotel. Will there be access to water where we are at? Not swimming but bathing. If camping is there a truck goin up just before us or right behind us that can haul our campin gear? Do I need leathers? Do I need leathers even tho it's now 90 degrees will I need leathers before I get back home. If so got to wear those if hauling tent. To funny at the most even for month long dyna ride I get to pack 2 changes of clothes yet it takes longer to pack for dyna ride than it does for disney. Once I know what I can take tho I can do it in a matter of mins.
