How soon before check in?

How soon before my arrival at OKW can I check and see where my two studios will be? Do they make room assignments a few days before check in? Should I call OKW directly or call MS? I am just hoping that my studio and my parents are at least close to the same bus stop. Will they take this into consideration when making the assignments?

You will not be able to find out your room numbers in advance. Once at WDW you can check in as early as you would like, however you won't be given your room numbers until your units are actually ready for occupancy. If your unit is not ready when you check in you will be given a telephone number to call to check on their status. You can then go off to the parks or elsewhere on property.

Although you will not be given your room numbers I think the CM will be able to tell you how close your units are to each other. They just won't give you any specific information until the rooms are ready.

Who made the ressie for the rooms? Did you ask MS to link the two rooms? This has always worked for us--we usually get rooms right above/below each other. Once they put one of us in the building right across the parking lot from the other, but it still worked out well. You might call back to MS and ask them to link the ressies together, just in case, and then when you check in , ask the desk person if the two rooms are near each other. They do try to help out when they can.

The guy that I rented points from made the first rissie. I finally had the mind to call and make my parents a rissie with my own points, so these have been made at two different times. I did'nt ask for the rooms to be linked (didn't know I could so thanks). I did ask if they could be kind of close together. Maybe I should call back and ask for them to be linked? Should I wait until closer to the trip? We go in October.

Call now (well, next week, when MS is open, of course) while you are thinking of it. Ask that your reservation number be noted on your parent's reservation and vice versa. Ask for a note to be put on both that says you would like the rooms to be located as near to each other as possible.

The room assigner will see the notes and that will increase your chances of getting what you want. It wouldn't hurt to arrive/check in early in the day. That way, you can repeat your request and there will be more vacant rooms from which the CM can choose. My understanding is that many rooms at OKW are actually assigned by the CM at check in. However, others say that at least some rooms (those with special requests, like yours) are assigned 3 or 4 days in advance.

If you are really concerned, you can also fax OKW directly about 3 or 4 days prior to your arrival. If you do that, be sure to include the reservation numbers and your day of arrival in the fax.
