How sick would your kids need to be to cancel

We just got back from a trip to WDW. We vacationed with my brother and his family. My nephew, who is 3, was sick with a virus. I think he didn't have a very good time, because it made him irritable, and he didn't want to go on any of the rides, and usually he does. He was even afraid of Small World. By the third or fourth day, he was feeling better, but, our stay was almost over. On the one hand, it is hard to cancel a trip on short notice, but, on the other, if you are travelling with other people, one sick child who doesn't want to do anything can put a damper on everything. I know we are going to go again, so, I am hoping the experience didn't ruin WDW for my nephew.
