How should I handle this?

Last Spring a friend and I went to a concert out of town and happened to stay at the same hotel as the band. I think they were stalking us because they knew that was the same hotel we used last time. ;)

Anyway this is a band that has really meant a lot to me and they are the ones who got me on the road to coming out of my shell and to discovering myself. They all know this but I seem to have some sort of a connection with the singer. He is like the big brother I never had.

The next morning when I went to check out they were just leaving as well. The cashier ran my debit card and as she asked if there was anything else she could do for me the singer came in the door. I jokingly said "you can put my room on his bill" then laughed. Being the sweetie that he is he said sure.

Well when I got home from my trip the charge never did show up on my account, like it was voided. I called the bank and they didn't know anything. I called the hotel and they were no help. So I asked his mother. She told me to take it as the gift it was and something else that I can't remember at the moment. That makes me think he told her about it and she knew he did it.

Anyway, I will be seeing his show later this month and I wonder if I should bring it up to thank him or not. This will be the first time I have seen him since then. Would you tell him thank you in person? He is the kind who doesn't really like for someone to make a big deal about his good deeds.

Gee I really was joking though! Boy did I feel bad when I realized what he had done. It was so sweet of him though. See why I love this band so much? They really are great guys. For those of you who are thinking it, no he didn't do it in hopes of getting anything else in return later. Like I said he is like family to me.

Chell, what'd you go and do now??? LOL!

I were you, I'd simply go up to him, give him a huge hug and give my thanks and gratitude for his sweet gift.

Hey Rick! Long time no see.

That sounds like a plan to me. I have to give him a huge hug anyway. :flower:

Wow--what a generous man!

I agree with Rick. A big, friendly hug and sincere thank you for his kindness I'm certain will be appreciated. How nice of him. :)

Thanks Kim! He is a sweetie. People wonder why I would drive for hours to see his show - because he is talented and sweet as can be! :flower:

I wasn't sure if I should mention it or not. But a short thank you (as long as I don't go on and on) will be good.
