How scary is TOT?

hmm... we'll have to see. the baby will be about 10 weeks old when we go, so maybe I won't feel up to it, or maybe he/she will be hungry... :teeth:

Don't let the drops scare you from this great attraction!

The atmosphere from beginning to end is top notch, and it would be a shame to miss out on all of it because of the drops in the final 15 seconds or so. They look a lot worse than it is. It's quite smooth and over in a flash.

Of course, I don't want to force you on it if you don't want to, but I definitely feel like it's worth it.

I think I have hi-jacked this thread, sorry OP! I will do my best to be brave when we are down there, I'll let you all know!

How many drops does the TOT have now? The last time I went it was only 1 drop! I don't usually get motion sickness but I'm wondering if multiple ups and downs will bother me. Anyone been on it recently? :confused3

Thanks!

Only 72 days to go... til I turn my novice husband into a WDW addict!

We just went recently for 10 days and it's not that scary. How do I know? Well because my TOTAL CHICKEN 4yr old (turned 5 on this trip) not only rode it once but consented to ride it AGAIN. She's scared even on Snow White's ride! LOL (she hates darkness, loud noises and this was her first trip to ever ride anything resembling things like roller coasters/etc.)
It's not scary... to quote her "that's fun- let's do it again!" LOL

(ps. the only thing that is scary to her is the pre-show.... she covered her ears and I covered her eyes LOL)

:) We rode ToT in January.

DS9 thought he was going to like it, and he HATED it. He is honestly not sure if he wants to try it again in October. He is not easily frightened - nothing else at any of the parks scared him. We didn't ride Mission:Space and we didn't ride RnRC because he is small for 9 and we were afraid it would whip his head around too much, but nothing else scared him.

I liked ToT. Didn't LOVE it, but liked it. I agree that by the middle of the ride I couldn't tell which direction we were going. I would have thought we were going up, but my sunglasses were floating in front of me on the strap so we must have been going down. I also agree that the anticipation is what makes it so stressful. I had been reading these boards every single day before our trip, and lots of people said the build-up is what gets you. I kept reminding myself of that as we rode.

Give it a try! DS didn't enjoy it, but I think he is probably glad he tried it. DH doesn't like PLAIN elevators and he rode it with us, so it is worth at least one ride. Have fun!
