I know this might be moved to another spot but wasnt sure where to post.

I need some info before getting my tickets today,

How scary is this????????

My DD is a chicken!!! She cannot help she just is, i dont want her to be miserable the whole night. and i dont want to be either.

Also, what is the earliest you have gotten in? iI am trying to met up with some folks who have adr for 4:30.

THANK YOU

We went a couple years back and had a great time. My daughter was 7 and my son was 2. Neither of them had any reaction at all other than it being fun. If I remember correctly, they discourage scary costumes so I wouldn't worry about it. Go and have a great time!

We had no scary moments last year for our kids 4 and 5. The costumes were rather pleasant, at least all that we saw were not scary.

If you are having doubts, keep researching it a little longer. I don't believe you have to buy your tickets this early, unless you just want to do that now.

I've been twice and can reassure you it's quite tame and lots of fun. There are CM's around the park handing out candy and a fun parade. The only thing that might be a little overwhelming is the fireworks...and even that is just loud.

My son (just turned 3 at the time) had a grand old time until the fireworks started. They pipe audio clips of villain scenes from various movies. Once he heard Ursula and couldn't really figure out where she was or why she was so loud, he wanted out of there NOW. And that was the end of the night for us. That was a good couple hours into it though and we had fun until then and were thinking about wrapping up any way. He just hates all the bad people from movies, LOL.

We have been to the MNSSHP twice now. My daughter was 5 when we first went and 7 for the second trip. The party is definately not scary and TONS of fun. The only scary thing I can think of is in the parade they have grave diggers who are all made up and looks freaky-- but they do not come near you. This is my favorite disney event! :goodvibes

its different for every kid, but i think most will be fine if you tell them its just
"mickey-magic" and that the villans wont hurt them.
last time i was there i didnt even notice the villians being there, and i think with all the candy and rides most wouldnt notice it.
its SO much fun!
be sure to check out the parade!
and if your kids are interested, go down splash mountain during the fireworks!
with the nice high view its pure magic!
have fun!!

During the parade some of the characters like Daisy Duck, Chip and Dale and others are singing "It's really not so scary!" and shaking their heads no to the little kids. My little guys loved them so much that they sing that part all the time.

We were able to download the "Boo to You" songs from the parade and have been listening to them in the car for the last few months-:goodvibes It's a very contagious song. "It's really not so scary. Boo to you, boo, boo, boo.... I agree that the fireworks MAY scare smaller ones, but maybe if you tell her ahead of time what to expect, she'll be okay.

You can check out this thread where someone has posted the lyrics to the "Boo to You" parade songs. There used to be link for the audio, but it's gone now. :sad2: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1249769

You can also check out Youtube for some video clips people have posted. It's fun to check out! Here's one that has some good sound and images of the parade using the same songs I've been listening too.

As far as the time, we too heard you could get in as early as 4:30. Last year we entered about 5:30, without a problem, and without a line:goodvibes . We had 5:55 ADRs for LTT that night and spent the day at BB, otherwise we may have tried to enter earlier. We finished eating just at 7 p.m, the official starting time.

I have a review of our first MNSSHP, last year, with pictures, at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1231593

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the report and the pictures, i hope we like the event, as we have bought our tickets, it is the beginign of our vacation so i am sure anything will be just fine!

I have a chicken as well, and the only thing that upset her was the pirate float in the parade because the pirates on the bottom were scary. "He looks like a big scary octopus, Mommy!" We just directed her attention the the floats coming after that. Other than that, she had a great night!!

oh TY, I am glad to here that, most people dont understand the chicken thing it is soemtimes hard to deal with.

Good to know thanks again
