How scary is Dinosaur--(Be honest).

We take up the whole 2nd and 3rd rows. There were 10 in our group!

I really like the exprssion on the kid in the front row. :)

DW and I rode dinosaur for the first time in Feb. (We do not have children). Its a great ride. It is a little rough and bumpy. We did not find it too scary. But I was shocked at its effect on the kids who were riding, every child in our car was terrified. Lots of children hanging on their parents, some in tears. I guess it depends on the child.

My DS 8-hated it!
We were the last ones on the ride that day, so it is just us 5 in the photo.
We had it blown up into a poster...quite funny actually.
My DH, DD-17, and DS-5 are sitting the front doing okay.
I am in the back with Kyle and he has his hands over his eyes and I have my hands over his hands!
Not the best ride in the world, but the photo.......well you know....
PRICELESS!

....I asked her to give a quote on this. She was 5 at the time...and I quote"I was a bit scared the FIRST time, but then when we went on everytime after that, it was fun!"

My son, who was 7 at the time, says"The only part that scared me was when the tree got pushed over by the Styracosaur(he said its like a Tricerotops, but with more horns..LOL..I dont even remeber that part..LOL)

Both my children are as different as night and day...son loves dinosaurs(as can be evidenced by his quote) and my daughter could take them or leave them, but she is very timid(just hearing the themesong from Haunted Mansion gets my daughter going..LOL)

With that in mind, my kids, although mildly affected the first time, RAN!!!back on a second time, and then a third time, wanted to do it again, but we wanted to see the rest of AK!!LOL

I say...give your daughter the real deal about the ride, and let her know roughly what she should expect, and dont be surprised when she says "LETS DO THAT AGAIN!!!!!!"

Thanks for all the great responses.

When she handled everything we went on last June (absolutely loved BTMRR) and she had decided she would give Splash Mountain a spin, but we didn't have time. So, this year I think a little Dinosaur, maybe Star Tours and definitely Splash Mountain is in order.

Thanks again!!

LOVES this ride. Well she is 6 now but when we went in dec 2001 she had just turned 5 and she adored this ride. We rode it 4 times in a row just because she wanted to and then when we went back in may of 2002, that was the first park she wanted to go to so she could ride Dinosaur again and we did--5 times that day and then again in Dec 2002 she wanted to go there again first to ride her "favorite of all time rides" :) We are going again in 10 days and I don't really have to guess where we will be going first--she loves it and wan't afraid at all. In fact, my mother always goes with us and she is a HUGE chicken and my little girl goaded her into getting on it and my mom loved it too. :) We don't find it scary as much as just a really rough ride.

PrincessDana

read the thread by KandK'smom titled just back any?'s and watch out for dinosaur. It speaks of injuries on this ride.

We went on the dinosaur ride last july, DH, myself and 9yr old GS. while none of us was scared of it we just didn't like it, it was bumpy, jerky, and dark to us it was a waste of time.
