I know there have been several incidents at the park, but I also know that it's one of the most popular water parks anywhere, and that therefore the incident rate is pretty low.

I'm just wondering, from those with experience, are there any slides that seem particularly dangerous? Not really talking about mortally dangerous, more like injure an otherwise healthy back or neck.

My thoughts - I have been going to VB several times a year since it opened. Relatively healthy, but I am 60 years old! Haven't really felt any health concerns.

I know there were reported problems with Punga Racers when it was a head first mat slide. I rode it my first trip there the year VB opened and didn't like it, so never rode again. They have completely redone the ride and now it is a feet-first body slide, I still haven't been on it.

There was a claim once from either Maku or Puihi that someone fell out of the raft. The group raft rides are quite fast and you do need to hang on tight.

I'm not a fan of the trap door drop slides, tried one of the twisting ones once, I kept my hand over my nose and mouth because of all the water sloshing in my face. Didn't feel like an injury situation, just uncomfortable.

To be honest, having tried almost everything there except the straight down drop slide, I just stick to the aquacoaster, Taniwha Tubes, Honu and Ika Moana, the 2 rivers and wave pool. Maybe someday I'll try Ohno and Ohyah again, they really didn't thrill me when I rode them 5 years ago.

This was very helpful. Thank you. I rode Tonga and Ika Moana and thought they were great. We got there late so the water coaster was full, but I'll give it a shot on Tuesday
