What I would like to know is how rough the US/IOA thrill rides are??

I consider the Disney ones (Mt. Everest, Space Mountain CA, Rock n roller coaster) to be very smooth. Very nice thrill rides. I do not worry about banging my head, jarring my back.

I consider the Matternorn in DL to be a rough ride. Jarring on my spine. I think Space Mountain FL is not a very smooth ride, but tolerable.

I consider some of the coasters I've been on at Six Flags/Elitch's Denver to be really rough. I'm too worried about getting a spine injury or a concussion to be scared or "thrilled". LOL. Some have such abrupt stops that you slam your head back in your seat, etc.

Can someone tell me how the US thrill rides compare? I just read in another thread that RRR was rough. If they are super rough, rattling rides, I will skip them.

I find the RRR to be quite smooth, The Mummy is smooth and I find Dragon Challenge and The Hulk to be moderate for a steel coaster, they aren't bad though. Spiderman and Forbidden Journey kinda jerk you abit with sudden movement.

There is one bit on the Mummy....it comes to a sudden stop and the first time I did it...I really banged my head hard against the back of the seat.

Apart from that it`s fine. I`m well prepared now and "brace myself" :)

I haven`t been on RRR yet.....maybe this year, but I`m sure someone (Inkognito maybe????) went on loads of times and said different cars gave you different rides.

The Hulk kinda rattles my brain if I do it more than twice in a row, same with DD. But never felt them hurt my back at all. They are all real good fun rides :thumbsup2

I'm interested in this too. I had back surgery in March. The Dr. has cleared me for most rides but says "nothing too rough." I'm not taking any chances but it'll be very hard for this die hard thrill seeker to not go on the "fun" rides.

So I need the inside scoop on what is rough / smooth at both parks.
