Hi, :flower:

Just wanting to know from a non DVC sales person, (i.e you lot out there), how easy is it to get the dates you want booking 11 months in advance.
:teacher: :thewave:

I know there is a lot of members, and knowing my luck everyone will want to travel the same time. :cheer2:

Has anyone booked a flydrive before booking DVC accomodation. :moped:

I am traveling to ASM in 3 weeks, but can not wait to book for August 2006 as will be first trip home at SSR.
:cheer2: :dancer: :cool1:

I have never had any problems booking my home resort at the 11 month window, also when I have wanted to swap at the 7 month window I have also been lucky and never had a problem :)

I don't think you should have any problems. SSR should have a lot of its rooms open by Aug 06 and it's going to be a big resort! The most difficult things to book are times like Easter, Christmas, Boardwalk and BCV during the Food and Wine festival, and also Grand Villas!! The other, quite surprising, one is booking for early December, when members like to take advantage of the low points to enjoy the Christmas decorations.

At the risk of incurring any wrath, if you want to absolutely certain, you can also call day by day to make your ressie!! Just inform Member Services of your intentions during you first call and then they will wait until the reservation is complete before they send out the confirmation letter.

I've made quite a few reservations now for various resorts and types of rooms, and I haven't had any problems yet.

Because the vast majority of DVC members are based in the US , not the UK, what are peak days/months for us Brits (July and August) are not necessarily the peak times for the DVC as a whole. The Summer is busy at DVC Hilton Head but in general the real heat of Mid Summer is a factor that means WDW in August isn't as busy as one would imagine. The REALLY busy times for WDW tend to be, Xmas, Easter, Spring break (March/early April) , memorial weekend (May 30th) , July 4th weekend and Thanksgiving. Because Americans get a LOT less vacation time than Europeans it tends to clog up around those weekends.

I would always book the DVC accommodation before the flights (whenever possible) as it's relatively easy to adjust/cancel the accommodations that far out.

Has anyone booked a flydrive before booking DVC accomodation.
Yes, I've always done this - my reasoning being that I know I'll get accommodation somewhere (even if it's not DVC) whereas I might not get the flights I want if I'm going at a busy time. That said, I'm prepared to be flexible on the DVC resort if the resort of choice is full, and I would go on the wait list if necessary.

So far, I've had no problems at 11 months, even over Easter w/end. :)

I would always book my fly drive first too :)

I honestly don't think you will have a problem booking at 11 months out :)

We like to go at uk half term in October and the flights are always busy but the parks are really quite (apart from fellow Brits). I will always book the flights as soon as they allow (usually about a year in advance) as I am sure there will be rooms at DVC.

Thanks for all the info,

We are looking at August, As DD is at Nursery I know missing school at her age is not really an issue. But why get into a habbit, must start getting ready to pay higher prices now.

And flights from Newastle are only in the summer season.

Going to meet our guide whilst staying at ASM, in 3 weeks he is going to show us around SSR
