Hi Diser's,

We all know that Fantasmic! is scheduled to re-open on Jul 17. How realistic is that date? Does Disney generally run test shows a couple of days earlier or do they wait til the specified date or after to run shows.

I know wishing for the show to demo 6 days earlier is probably wishful thinking (last full day of honeymoon trip but was wondering the chances that the show may go through a trial run early)

This close in? I think it's fairly reliable. No word on whether they'll have AP/CM previews or soft opens, but a general open 6 days early? Probably not.

Shows...doubtful. Unlike an attraction where they can quietly soft open for a bit F! is a bit more of an undertaking to execute...Be willing to bet there may be an invited media/VIP guest kinda preview but I would not bank on a general public soft opening before the publicly announced opening date.

It seems like it would be problematic to do a soft open of a big show like that. They would need to announce it early in the day. If they just started the show with no warning, the sound of it would create a stampede.

A ride could open and close without warning because it won't be obvious all over the park that it has opened - like it would be for Fantasmic!

I also doubt that there will be unannounced soft openings of F! prior to July 17th. I would not be surprised to hear of some (several) media/invited guests preview(s) in the days leading up to the 17th (kind of like they did for the 60th shows). At most, I think the "public" might be offered a chance to "win" tickets to the events (e.g., Park Blog sign-up, etc.).

It's possible they'll do a paid premiere party the night before. Similar to the Tower of Terror closedown and Guardians of the Galaxy premiere. But it would likely be an after-hours thing, as they already released park hours for those dates. They could do something that closes down the west side of the park like they've done for Annual Passholder events (Indiana Jones 20th anniversary), but I think this late it's unlikely.

Of course they do "test shows" but they are after hours not open to the public.

I would really not count on any public "previews" of the show before 17th.
