How points work?

New here. I hope I am posting in the right place. Can someone direct me to where I can find out how points work. How many do I need? Are all timeshares the same? What is the going price? etc Thanks for the help.

points are used to secure reservations at DVC resorts or some other exchanges. The points are used according to time you want to stay, size of the room and length of stay. The cost of SSR is $101 per point(with some incentives) while the other resorts I believe for non members is $95 per point now. I would suggest trying to figure out what type of accomodations you need or prefer, for how long you would stay and how frequently, and then the # of points needed.

Personally, we just got in with the minimum points needed if you buy direct from Disney (150) and will add on from there if need be.
