We'll be staying at the Beach Club Villas and want to have dinner one night at Boma. How much of a pain is it to get from one resort to the other using Disney's transportation system? How much is a cab?

kpgclark: Hi - I just came back from a weeks stay at the AKL and we traveled all around the
WORLD. We went to the BW and BC three times during our stay and to the GF twice, Polynesian 1x and had no difficulty whatsoever. We did dine at BOMA's for dinner and breakfast and enjoyed both meals. Hope you enjoy BOMA's as much as we did.

We just got back from BC. To get to Boma, we took a bus to AK and then caught the AKL bus. It was pretty easy. Just watch out that you don't try to do this around park closing, because of the crowd exiting the park. Don't know about the cab fare, sorry!

As Nancybell stated, it shouldn’t be pesty at all. If you need to be anywhere within WDW in a hurry and you do not have a car, definitely take a taxicab (and call Bell Services in advance so that one is waiting for you). Most cab fares are less than $20. I think only once did our cab fare get close to $20, the norm was usually within the $10 to $15 range (plus tip). We never have a car while on property and always use either WDW transportation or taxicabs. We have been doing this for years. And when we have a large party traveling with us, we have requested multiple van-cabs in advance. Bell Services has been wonderful about handling that for us (especially at the BWV).

I hopped a bus from BC (same bus stops at BW) to MK and then hopped the next bus over to AKL. I didn't wait more than 10 minutes for any bus on the way over. On the way back, when I was at the AKL bus stop, the bus for AK was the 1st one to come along so I hopped on that one. Once I was at AK, I had to wait about 25 minutes for a bus going back to BC. I was simply out sight-seeing and it was mid-morning so I guess they were not expecting much traffic to be headed back to the BC resort. I wondered if I would have been better off waiting for a bus back to MK. An option for you would be to catch a bus back to MGM and then stroll back to BWV. Your plans will depend on what time you expect to return to BWV. You obviously can't catch a bus to a park that closed hours before you complete your dinner. I wouldn't worry about a taxi. Disney will not let you be stranded.
