How overwhelming is the current state of construction?

Just over 30 days left for me to go and I couldn't be any more excited!!!!
However, my one main concern is construction. I purposefully held off to mid-late April to hopefully free up some construction. It worked out for areas of Disney Springs & the MK Hub at least. Plus I am sure within the next 30+ days it could lessen even more. But currently, how overwhelming is it exactly for those of you experiencing it there?

I've been keeping up to date and looking through photo reports. Those help, but it's one thing to see it and another being there to experience it in person. I do not want to feel like a human pinball machine with hoarding walls surrounding us :scared:

From pictures, the only unbearable construction looks to be Animal Kingdom. Walls everywhere...

We are there in 25 days. DTD is not important to us, so I'm not concerned if there are walls. MK doesn't look too bad.

Hopefully AK won't be too bad and visual experience of the park hindered :(
AK is my favorite park for relaxation and taking in the beautiful lush scenery.

Is this fountain(I think Yak & Yeti) still operational and not behind walls? I love this area for relaxing for some reason:

Last summer the DTD walls, hub walls and Poly walls were so overwhelming. By the time all of those are better DHS will be wrapped in them I'm sure. It will be years before we go mostly wall free!

AK is walled like a big life size rat maze. Lol it's not that bad but sometimes I did feel like that guy in the bud commercial in the big pac man game. They could have filmed it there. It does take away from some of the magic but really I'm in Disney so it can not stop the fun. Make the best of it and enjoy. The best part is who your with and the memory you make of it.

By the way was there in February and fountain was not blocked off.

Animal Kingdom has lot of walls up. My teenage son even mentioned how it ruins the park right now. I know it will be nice when all done, but wall are up everywhere.

Was in AK on Tuesday. It was a little more crowded than the prediction, but the day felt like a 10 to me. The construction walls herd the guests along like cattle in a shoot. It's very claustrophic. We had dinner at Ohana and went early to watch the water pageant from the beach. I also felt like the construction there was overwhelming. At the MK, however, I barely noticed it.

I was there three weeks ago and to be absolutely honest, I hardly even noticed them. There is so much to see and do in the parks that unless you make it a point to seek out every construction wall, it just blends in with everything. Yes, you know they are there, but, they really do not interfere with what there is to do. Some scenery is blocked, but, there is a lot left over that is still visible.

Thanks for all the responses :)
AK was my main worry just because of how lush and nature-filled it is, I would assume it would distract a lot having walls. BUT, I still have 30+ days to go so hopefully an extra wall or two may be down by then. I'm sure on the trails you do not really notice the work.

Downtown Disney was very overwhelming and kind of a bummer. In the past, we've loved just hanging out there, and that was really difficult this time.

They were also very noticeable in AK.

Barely made an impact in MK

Have fun!

At least Disney attempts to make the walls part of the experience by incorporating the changes into the theme of the walls. Not like years ago when there was just a big blue wall up. That wasn't a way to spend a vacation.

Anyone have recent pics of the AK construction? I'm there April 27 and while I know things can change between then and now I'd like to know what to expect. I've seen lots of blog posts, photos and videos of MK hub but nothing for AK.
Also anyone know when the Main Street facade work will be done?

Take a look at the "Dis updates" on the home page there is a recent blog with pics at AK.

I looked at those the day they were posted and so glad I did! We love AK, it's our favorite park and we never understand how people say it's a "half day park". However, after seeing those pics, we rearranged our easter week plans. We were planning on spending 2 days at AK but we changed it to 1 day AK and an extra day at flower and garden in Epcot. I can deal with some construction, but it looks like is all throughout the park! We love AK because it's so pretty. Walls are not pretty. :(

I love AK too. We were just there but it was only for a half day and we were busy trying to do everything our group wanted to do so really didn't pay any attention to the walls. I think if we had been spending our usual full day with plenty of slow down and enjoy time, the walls would have bothered me a lot more.

It did seem extremely crowded compared to the other parks. Not sure how much impact the walls had on that.

Yeh when I was there in September I found the walls very overpowering and I think it definitely made it feel more crowded and possibly even hotter than normal. I have nothing but awe for those who managed to last an entire day there. I personally only got 2 mornings in at AK as I just couldn't really enjoy with all the construction.

On the other hand, barely even noticed there were construction walls up at MK....

We were just there for two weeks, and don't plan to return until most (all) construction is completed. We have been going for years, and some construction is inevitable, but this time walls were everywhere you looked in every park, some resorts - took some down in MK hub while we were there - helped some. Was very frustrating to me - others may not be bothered as much.

After this trip, I can't see myself returning until 2019/20 at the earliest.
I'm all for getting work done and making sure everything is in tip top shape. However, there is just a little too much going on all at once for my tastes.

And to think, many thought new-Fantasyland construction was overwhelming. That was nothing compared to now. But we will make the absolute best of it!

I am very worried about AK. It was my kids' favorite park by far last trip and we are planning two days there again next trip. If the walls are so overwhelming, though, I don't know if they will like it as much. The hated fantasy land last trip because of the walls up there, I think it made them feel a bit claustrophobic because of their sensory needs.

Does anyone know if some of the walls will be down by Sept?
