How on earth do people plan without the DIS?

This question came to mind today while working on the specifics for my Fall 2010 trip. I know, I know, you see my ticker and I haven't even taken my first trip yet... But that's what the DIS did for me. It got me into the Disney spirit, it makes planning exciting, and I don't want it to end when this first trip is over. It will make this trip even better, because I know when I'll be going back, and I can make plans to see this and do that next time. Also, as a suggestion from a diser I will ask to see a room in the 2 resorts I was unsure about chosing for the 2010 trip. I'm pretty sure about one, but want to see if I will use the second for my 2011 trip ;).

Before the DIS I was sure I'd never stay onsite, but after all the great posts I'm sure it will be even better (dh will have to do something about his snoring when we stay in a room as opposed to a house though). I found out how to get the best price on tickets, things to do, how to plan, pretty much everything was done based on the countless hours spent reading and posting on the DIS. Even personal questions about asking family to come and how to get through that mess.

So I guess my question is more rhetorical in that I don't know if I didn't have the DIS that my trip(s) would be nearly as good. I even plan on taking pictures and notes specifically for my trip report when I return. So in summary, THANK YOU, to the people that started this unbelievable site!!!! :worship:
It has offered information and entertainment to last many years of Disney vacations! :cheer2:

I second that! My daughter and son-in-law decided to take their 3 year old for her first trip to Disney in September and invited Grandma (me) to come along. None of us have ever stayed on site, vaguely had heard some extended family mention dinner reservations for their trip back in 2007. I googled Disney message boards and found this site about 2 weeks before it was time to make ADR's at 90 days. We have 1900PF, PSB, CM that I know will thrill my grand daughter! I've picked up so many other great tips from other DISers that I know will make this a fantastic vacation for all of us. When I mention some of the things I learned here my daughter is amazed.

Thanks DIS boards, can't imagine where we'd be without this board.

I'm with you guys. We just got back last Thursday. Thanks to the Dis, we decided to give CBR a try. We LOVED it. It's now our new favorite resort. I also listen to the podcast and made most of my ADRs based on their reviews. They are always right on! I also discovered TGM and Ridemax on these boards - both worth the expense. We didn't wait in line for more than 15 minutes! My husband thinks I'm nuts and addicted to these boards but when we're in the parks and he sees who many useful tips I've come across, he's always amazed!

I've yet to try the podcasts, something new to do this week!

Amen to that! We are planning our first trip in the spring of 2010 but I wow all my coworkers with my knowledge of "insider" information. They all think I'm a wdw veteran! :rotfl2: Thanks DISers!

Planning a trip without the Dis?:scared1: I've never heard of such a thing!!!:rotfl:

I have to admit... I've done a WDW or two without using the DIS... of course, this was before there was the DIS! :lmao: But my last 2 vacations have been FAR more enjoyable since the DIS entered my life. Seems every week I am learning something new about WDW. Thanks, DISr's! :thumbsup2
