How on earth do I manage to get a reservation

at Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney?

I called Disney Dining and they told me they don't make reservations for there.

We asked at the restaurant in Downtown Disney and she said they were booked for that day, but call in the morning since they only take reservations the day off.

We called the next morning and were told they were booked solid until 9:30pm that night.

We are taking my sister and her girls in October and that is the only restaurant they have requested. This will likely be our last trip with them, and maybe there last trip ever so I would like to make it special.

I thought I read the Rainforest Cafe at AK is one that is just outside the park and you don't need park admission...I could be wrong. Would this resturant be an option?

Rainforest Cafe is confusing! LOL This is the way I understand it, hopefully I have this right:

You were told correctly about the DD location not taking reservations through the Disney system. You have to call them directly. But I do believe they take reservations in advance, rather than only same-day as you were told. You probably want to give them a call and ask.

As the others mentioned, there is a 2nd location at Animal Kingdom that doesn't require park admission, and I believe they do take reservations through Disney. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

To make reservations (priority seating) at the Downtown Disney location, use the number posted in post 5. They'll give you a number similar to the ones that Disney uses. To make reservations at the AK location, call Disney Dining. Good luck.

We were walk-ins for the Rainforest Cafe in DTD. There was a 45 min or so wait, but there are tons of shops nearby, so that was fine. It's not like at the Disney restaurants where they stop taking walk-ups. Although during a super busy time of year (like Christmas) I don't know that I would try it as a walk up.

WE walked in to both Rainforest Cafe's, the AK one we had to wait about 5 mins and the DTD one about 30 mins.

If you are going to DTD to do any shopping that day, got o RFC first and sign in. They will give you a ticket and tell you to come back at that time. Just be there about 15 minutes before your given time.

About reservations, PPs are correct, but wanted to add that Swan & Dolphin concierge can give you a pass where the wait will be 30 minutes.

I ate at the RF cafe at AK last June. Just to clarify:

1 - It is outside of the park
2 - I did have an ADR
3 - Disney made the reservation for me just like any other ADR
