how old were...

My son was 11 and my daughter 7... and both had been to Disney about 6 times. We spontaneously took the tour on the last day of our trip, with kids in tow, and the rest is history! They were so excited that they didn't even care about missing a few hours away from the parks. And it gave us something to smile about on our way home!

2.5 & a glimmer in my eye (my youngest).

We bought in Aug. 1999

We took our millenium baby in Dec. 2000 (age 6 months) where he learned how to wave at the Tapestry of Dreams parade--a truly magical trip.

They've had so many tremendous experiences at Disney. It's been a wonderful part of raising them:

Food & Wine Festival -- where my eldest introduced his BFF to new foods from around the world

Star Wars Weekends -- where they've been in every event & met the actors

4th of July -- an amazing celebration of our nation's birth

Christmas at Disney in early Dec -- the most incredible decorations & fake snow falling from the sky

Halloween -- spooky fun

Epcot's many fun educational opportunities

Meeting people from all over the world & learning about those countries

DCL -- amazing experiences that we would never have done

Taking friends & family to Disney & watching the kids show them around as if it was their own hometown.....which in a way it is :thumbsup2 .

Simple pleasures -- like our family tradition of visiting the candy store on Main St on our last night & buying a giant chocolate Mickey shaped rice krispie treat to bring home some magic.

We bought back in 1998.

We do not have any children but I have a niece and nephew that we started taking when they were old enough. They have been blessed to have made 4 trips 4 years straight. They are now DNeph 11 and DNiece 9. We are taking them again this summer.

We were staying at the BC in November 2000 and DH asked me to pick up info about DVC over at the BW, and next thing I knew (and much to his annoyance) we had an appt with a guide (he hated cutting into Disney tourning time). We originally bought Vero Beach, then came home, studied the DVC board (and innocently found myself in a few hot topics, like how many people can you put in a 1 BR and getting extra towels from the pool

), cancelled VB, and bought our BWV resale in February 2001.

Our kids were: DD (12), DD (10) and DS (8). We thought our first DVC trip that November might get sidelined by 9/11 and oldest DD getting diagnosed with a bone disorder in October. The fact that we could go on our trip was all the more special.

We just bought in February and our kids are 4 and 19 months....
Not sure if we plan on anymore but we don't always follow plans, lol

We bought in October 1999 and took our first trip in August 2000 when the kids were 14, 12 and 8. Previously their most luxurious accommodations were DxL (PO-R) and Caribbean Beach and boy were they surprised when we opened the door(s) to our two bedroom villa. This is ALL for us?!?!?
Since then we collectively have taken 13 trips in everything from a studio for a long weekend to a two bedroom for ten days. The older two kids each celebrated their high school graduations with friends at WDW and my DD (16) is already planning her grad trip itinerary. :rotfl2:
Like so many others.... this is the BEST purchase I have ever made. :cool1:

My 2 DS's were 15 & 12 when we purchased our contract 2 years ago.

We didn't have children at the time we bought. Decided in 2003 that it was time to start thinking about having children. Had looked at DVC in 1999 on our honeymoon but didn't think we could afford it. So 2003 we decide we better buy in before we had kids because we knew once we started a family we'd always find a reason not to buy.

We closed in March 2003 with BCV points and found out we were pregnant in May 2003! So just in the nick of time... :thumbsup2

And we pay our last payment this month (April) and our DVC is officially all ours!! Woo hoo!:dance3:

Our kids had not been born yet when we bought our first contracts. We were preparing for the adoption process, but we had not started anything formal at the time we bought in.

We purchased when our boys were 15 (twins). We had gone to WDW every other year since they were 8. We waited to buy into DVC when we could pay cash.

My Dsis gave us a hard time for buying when they boys were in High School. DH and I just grinned, high-fived each other, and said "soon we can use this puppy when it isn't a school break" and "whoo-hoo vacation only paying for two!" We secretly hope the boys will always want to join us for vacation.

The boys loved our first trip home last summer and being treated so royally on our DCL vacation over NYE 2006/2007. We are looking forward to our vacation this June at DL on points and NYE at WDW this winter. THAT's why we have our DVC :goodvibes
