How old were you when you became a parent?

I was 34 and had been married 11 years. My poor in-laws had all but given up hope on ever becoming grandparents. When we went and told them I was pregnant we got very little reaction from them. They told us later they thought we were joking and were waiting for some sort of punchline. After we left their house they apparently realized we were serious and were off the wall ecstatic.
