How old to ride the monorail alone?

We are staying at the CR and I know our kids will want to ride the monorail at least once to the TTC and switch to the EPCOT line and then back to the CR.

They are boys, 15 and 11. I know they would have no problem doing it alone, as they have done it with us many times. And I know they can handle it - the 15 year old can drive, so this is not a problem. Not worried they would be abducted or would not know how to get back to the resort - the 11 year old would even know that. They can always find us at the Outer Rim Bar (just kidding). But is there an age limit? Would Cast Members question why they were on the monorail alone?

they will be just fine. and as far as I'm concerned, there would be no problem with meeting upwith you at the Outer rim bar. why would there be?

why shouldn't you and your spouse enjoy a drink on vacation while your older children take a spin on the monorail and meet up with you? maybe they could even stop at an arcade, or enjoy a ride or two while you enjoy some "adult" time.

growing up in Chicago, I was taking 3 dif buses to get from my house to the beach on Lake Michigan. at age 13. and 2 buses that autumn to get to my high school.
I am not sure of the age you need to be to be in the park alone.. 12 maybe? but the younger would be with the older.. and to ride alone might be 7?
someone will come along and let us know.

It is 14 to enter the park without someone aged 14 or older (although that is not enforced at all IME) and 7 to ride alone. Both the OP's kids are just fine together.

They allow my 10yr old and 7yr old to enter the park without me all the time. They take the monorail over from TTC because heaven forbid they wait 5mins for me to make a bathroom stop so I'm at least 1 monorail behind them and I see them enter the parks without issue. Heck they let my 10yr old YDD into the parks with my 7yr old even when 'her' magicband was asking for a finger scan (she has a child's AP) and it didn't match hers. I accidentally had given her my MB and the CM had just overrode the error for her no questions asked! ( not really pleased about that at all)

Plus my 3 younger kids (7,9&10) have ridden the bus from the park to the resort several times without me. I drove the car to the parks and they wanted to bus back so I sent them to the bus stop. Never stopped or questioned. Although I've never seen a transportation age minimum so...

Yes OP its not a problem in fact your kids could take the monorail to Epcot and go into Epcot without an issue.

Thanks all. You are correct - there should be no problem with us parents getting a drink while the kids ride the monorail or visit a park. I was joking about the word "always", like we'd be spending our entire trip at the bar.

They know their way around Disney better than we do and we are not worried at all. Just wanted to make sure they would be allowed at their ages.
