I am going with DS7 and I am not into those rides. I was wondering if he was able to ride alone since he loves them.

So if he if he meets the height requirement , does that me he can ride it alone? I thought you have to be a certain age in order to ride without an adult. :confused3

He can ride alone if he meets the height requirement. You may want to wait in line with your DS until he enters the ride at which time you can take the chicke.. er I mean "adult swap" exit and wait for him at the exit/gift shop.

I'm not into ToT either (love RnR though, well except the very beginning, still scares the daylights out of me) When my youngest DD was 10, her sisters weren't going with us anymore (work and college) and since she loves ToT, I'd just go and wait in the basement for her( there is seating down there, plus its cool on a hot day). Its kind of cool, seeing people's reactions as they get off. That nervous laughing and some that cry.

When my youngest was 3, we took her for the first time. I had gone too and just as the doors were about to close, once you were seated, I felt this horrible scream get stuck in my throat. Luckily I got myself under control but vowed never to ride again. But riding at age 3 made my now DD13 a daredevil, she'll ride anything. Even Skycoasters, all my girls are like that. They must get it from their dad.

Yes, you must be 7 to ride alone at WDW as well as meet the height restriction. Children younger than 7 must ride with a "responsible adult". So as a pp said if your son meets the 44 and 48 height restrictions and you and he are comfortable with him riding alone he may.

I know for sure that RnRC has a chicken exit so you can walk him through the pre-show and right up until boarding, then take the chicken exit and meet him at the end of his ride.

I am pretty sure that ToT has a chicken exit as well but I am not familiar with how that one works.

Tower of Terror absolutely has a chicken exit. Tell the CM at the loading platform. There's a service elevator between the two sets of ride elevators. A Cast Member will escort you downstairs that way, where you'll walk down a short hallway and come out right where the elevators unload.

Our DD will have just turned 4 when we go in December, and she has just reached 40 inches. But, I was not planning on taking her on ToT or any other 40 inch ride, as I thought they mighty be too scary for her. DH and I will swap or do MK rides on a sitter night. But, it sounds like some younger children have gone on the rides and not bee terrified. I don't want to take her on and then have her afraid of all rides for years, or whatever it might take to get over that. Thoughts?

We took DD on TOT when she was 4 1/2. She went w/ myself and DH 1st and we had to pry her hands off of the bar, but then when we went out to meet DIL'S, (who were waiting w/ DS-we had done the child swap) and they ask if she wanted to ride w/ them, she got a big smile and said YES!

Every kid is different so really only you can decide. My youngest did TOT on her 4th birthday and loved it, is now 9 and still loves it but you couldn't get my 11 yo on it in a million years :)

I would start out slow, enjoy fantasyland the rides without restrictions and the shows and parades. Maybe try the barnstormer in toon town, you can see the ride to judge beforehand and if she likes that then try BTMR. If she tends to be frightened on a ride like Pirates then you will know to skip TOT.

One rides we were unsure of either dh or I would ride first to get an idea of if our kids would enjoy them.

There are soooo many wonderful rides to enjoy don't worry if you decide to skip the height restricted rides. That's an excuse to return right?

My DS loves both rides ane he is definatly not a kid who gets scared on rides. I however am a big chicken so I will be taking the advise of the chicken exits.

Hard to say an age as there are plenty of adults who are petrified of Tower and Coaster.

Don't discount all 40 inch rides. My 4 yo's favorite in all of WDW is Soarin. That is followed closely by Stitch's Great Escape and some days Splash Mountain -- all 40 " rides. She also LOVES Barnstormer (a 38" ride, I believe). Just follow her lead, and trust your instincts. For example, my dd hates to get wet on the rides; so as long as I hug her to block the water on the big Splash Mountain drop, she loves it -- and then laughs at how wet mommy got.

Have fun.

To answer your question in your title...

Aparently older than 37 because it scared the pants off of me (TOT) :cool1:

RNR was fun, but it would depend on your child.

Barnstormer is actually 35 inches, and my almost-2-year-old meets the height requirement with about half an inch to spare! This is with really thin-soled shoes...Preschoolians, to be exact. They don't add more than about a quarter of an inch to his height. I'll post how he does on the ride at the end of next week. We measured him for it but didn't want to take him on it until Daddy joined us in Orlando, since it will be his first coaster! :Pinkbounc My guess is that he'll eat it up. He's a wild, thrill-seeking type of kid. :thumbsup2
