How often has the waitlist come through for you!!?

Am waitisted for Kidani and this is the first time that I've ever been on the waitlist..............so would like to assess likelihood of success! What has your experience been?

I waitlisted BWV BV June '07 which came thru @ 2.5 months out.

Now I'm waitlisted @ AKV Concierge for June '09. Here's hoping for
good luck twice!!!

We find that our wait-lists come in about 75% of the time. Not a bad average.

The only waitlist that I didn't get was for the night of December 7th last year, but I didn't go on one until a month out, so I was glad to get one of my 2 nights. I kept calling every day, and once one day was available so I took it.

I have a 1 night waitlist for savannah view studio Kidani, for the Sunday of Memorial weekend. It's for friends, and I had another waitlist for the same thing for DSis and that came through, so I have hope that our friends will have a savannah view too. I do have a standard view studio for my friends, so they won't be homeless.

We booked an Animal Kingdom studio for two nights for this past marathon weekend (JAN 8 - 10) back in Sept. I waitlisted for concierge and it came through a few weeks before the trip. I was psyched. That was a tough one to get because of limited availability of concierge rooms. Just wanted to say, it happens!

My waitlists have been more about getting certain dates than certain resorts. I will ask for any studio, 1BR or whatever depending on our party size. I've always gotten something (done about 5 waitlists) and I think it is because we just want to be there where ever we can stay.

I just got one for 2/13-17 for a 1 BR at SSR after less than a week.

I'm on my first waitlist too. I waitlisted for a 1BR BWview in November. Maybe I'll get lucky!??

We were going to book the week before Christmas, but were informed by hubby's employer that they have canceled vacations for that week, and the week before. Loverly. If you can't vacation when your kids are out of school, when are you going to vacation without having to take them out of school? So we had to push back our dates, after the 11-moth window had already passed for those dates. Thus, the waitlist.

Do I have to ring member services at all, or do they automatically change the ressie over if it comes up?

They will change it automatically. Check online and it will magically show up. Depending on how much time is left before the trip you may get written notice. I can't remember what the cut off is.

Our first waitlist - a 2BR standard at BWV in June came through in 2 days.
Our second - a studio at VWL at T-giving never came through, so we bought at VWL the next year!

We are at 50%.

I meet ALL four critieria!
Having waitlisted more times then I can count I have two failures.

1 Bedroom at BCV last October for a Saturday night. Probably listed 4 months in advance?

Concerige at AKV this January (marathon weekend) Studio. Probably listed in March of last year.

Otherwise I generally get lucky and clear at some point!

I voted for getting a waitlist at 2-3 months because I had to change weeks for a trip I booked at 11 mo for BCV in early May to a June trip in Feb. Work had a conflict for the May week. So we booked SSR and waitlisted for BCV,BWV and VWL. In April the VWL came thru and we droped the other two waitlists and enjoyed a week at VWL! This was in 2007.

Now I do remember a waitlist that never came thru: for fall 2007 we booked a studio at BWV at about 10 months out, got prefered view and waitlisted for BW view, it never came thru. This was for the first week of October. BUt, I admit I felt like it was a slim chance of having it happen!

I had a one bedroom at VWL during April 07 come through at the 7 day mark.
I have been waiting for 2 days AKV conciege since the 11 month window. I have 3 days, I guess I will see by May.

No one warned me that waitlisting would be dangerous for someone with holiday planning OCD!!!! Am now finding that I have to keep checking DVC website to see if my waitlist has magically appeared (the scrolling down the page to see the resort being similar to Charlie peeling back the chocolate bar wrapper looking for a Golden Ticket) as well as the Cruise Line Website to see if we have been magically upgraded to a stateroom with a balcony( no luck yet!!!!) ha! ha!

Will I still be sane by August?!! Watch this space!!!!!
Still thining good thoughts for all you guys on waitlist! Am thinking that when the Treehouses and Contemporary open for booking then there might be some waitlist activity for those of us waiting for the other resorts!

I was on the waitlist for a 2 bdr. bw view for the end of July. It came through in only 4 days.

I was shocked. I was on the waitlist 2 other times, both for BWV's, and neither came through.

I guess three times is the charm.

I am on a waitlist and keeping my fingers crossed! We are planning 3/17-3/25 and only the nights of 3/20, 21, 22 are available. So I snagged the 1 br and am waitlisted for the remaining nights. I will call every day to see if it becomes available on a day-by-day basis. Do you think my chances are good that they will come through?

I am confused ......can I ask in the nicest possible way why you are calling on a daily basis? I thought that once waitlisted you didn't have to do anything else except wait for it to appear!!!? I may be wrong as this is the first time I have ever done this!
Is there anywhere you can check how far up the list you are!?!!!!
