How often does Universal change up its merchandise?

After our first trip, we've been hooked on going a couple of times a year. The second time we went, about 6 months later we noticed that there was certainly some substantial amount of merchandise that we hadn't seen before. Does anyone know how often they refresh their merchandise?

I was an AP holder who went 5-6 times in the span of 5 months last fall. I'm fairly certain there were no major changes in the merchandise. It's kind of like Disney-- small, new things get added all the time and sometimes things sell out and don't get replaced. Are you looking for something specific?

Not necessarily looking for anything specific, it's just nice to see new stuff each time we go. It seemed like the Jurassic Park Discovery Center had quite a few new items between the times we had visited. That wasn't something I was expecting at all!

I try to keep up with the new Harry Potter products as we have lots of Potter fans in the family. When I was there towards the end of January this year I saw a number of new items. One being a The Monster Book of Monsters phone case. When I went back in May they no longer had them. They had a new necklace numbered charms series in May that was new.

I wouldn't say that they change it a lot. They add things. I've noticed that they add to the pins. I look specifically for Potter Merch and I always see something new.

Thanks Robo for posting pictures of those necklaces. I wondered what they looked like when someone brought it up. The Train one is really cool looking

I found it annoying that the sales people couldn't provide any information on when items might be restocked. Specifically something like "We restock once each day after closing; if we still have any that's when they'll appear; you may want to look again tomorrow if you can" or something to that effect. I remember looking for something in a size small - they were out (in all of the shops), but low and behold the next day there were tons. I can understand not restocking during the day - the shops are small, tight, crowded. But their less than helpful "No idea" didn't make my day magical.

A lot of the Potter Items are sold at multiple locations not just the smaller shops in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.

1. You can also buy Potter Items at the shops located at each resort.

2. The big Universal Store at City Walk.

3. Large Islands of Adventure Trading Company Store after you enter IOA.

4. Large Universal store after you enter Universal pixiedust:

Do you honestly expect every employee to know what they may or may not be receiving? That's pretty unrealistic.

No.

I expect something helpful like:
We restock daily; I suggest you check back tomorrow
We are not restock that style; I'm sorry
