we just cruised on the Fantasy and are thinking of sailing the Fantasy again in Feb 2020. Will the shows be different or anything new? How often do they change them?
Thanks

The producers and creative executives in charge of putting together the DCL shows actually spoke to the Gold/Platinum cruisers on the EBPC cruise. It takes 2 years to put together a new show for the ships. The Dreams show on the Wonder has just gone through a revision and will be premiered next week on the Wonder. New shows will not be introduced anytime soon. However, updates of older shows have been known to happen.

I wonder how long it would take to just rotate the shows to different ships.

No small feat, to be sure, but probably less time to do than create a new production from the ground up.

I’d always assumed that having different shows on the different ships was another way to encourage (force?) people to complete a Grand Slam. That may be my cynicism showing...

Would not be surprised in the least if some people used that to justify it. But hey, maybe changing the main production will make people think about going on the same ship again.

Me, I’m easy. Just get me on a 5+ day cruise, and I’ll find a way to enjoy myself.

At minimum it would be the length of an entertainment team's contract since they go on and off as a unit. (And no, sadly I'm not positive of the length of it - I do know it includes pre-embarkation rehearsals in Toronto. And they have to take the length of a contract off before going for another round.)

You wouldn't be able to rotate from the new ships to the classics and visa versa. The theaters and stages are not the same size so the sets are different and it would take a lot of work to rework them.

My guess we won’t see a new show on the four ships they have now for a very long time. They got rid of the two shows that most people didn’t like toy story and villians and replaced them with great shows. With three new ships coming and probably four new shows on the new ships, could be a long time till we see a new show on the first four ships. Just my guess
