I keep seeing people who wash towels EVERY NIGHT. Is this really necessary? I mean, you dry yourself off after a shower .. presumably you are CLEAN... Seems like a towel could be used more than once before a washing...

Presumably you are clean after a shower, but with the dry skin flaking off after hot days in the sun, I feel my towels need a cleaning every night!!!

Plus, I enjoy a fresh towel in the a.m!!

We usually have 4 people in a 2 bedroom, so there are plenty of towels. Each bath has 4 bath towels and wash cloths and hand towels, so even if we use a fresh one each day, we only have to do them every other day. I usually don't have to wash towels until after the first trash and towel or cleaning day (depending on how long our trip is), but I voted every other day, since that is what I do after that first cleaning day.

We use a clean towel every day at our house, so I do the same on vacation. When we stay in a studio, we pay for T & T.

Like rbuzzota, I love the smell of a fresh towel in the AM.

I wash them everyday cause: a. I love fresh towels. b. they don't dry very well through the day and I would never toss a used towel in the dryer, ugh. c. I am not beating them against a rock to clean them, the machine does the work, it is no big deal to twist the knob and turn on the machine as I leave for the day.
Come home, toss them in the dryer and poof, clean towels. Almost magic. :)

Wasn't there a long winded thread about this not so long ago?? I hope this isn't going to turn into one of "those" threads.

To answer the poll question, our towels get washed when they need to be washed. If they need it every day, they get it everyday. If they are not dry at night, I'll wash them -- because I don't want to have a wet towel to use in the morning.

It seems to be a personal preference thing. I don't wash my towels every day at home and I don't do it on vacation. I just hang them to dry. I think in this case people do whatever their moms taught them to do.

I voted "never".
My situation may be slightly different, as we get a 2br for three or four people. This gives us extra towels.

You mean people actually shower when they're on vacation ?? Maybe that explains the odd looks we get.......

... when you jump into the pool with shampoo in one hand and soap in the other???? :teeth:

I use towels differently on vacation than at home. I like to have DRY fresh towels. On vacation we shower in the morning and swim in the afternoon....so then another shower. In Florida's humidity the towels are not very dry for that 2nd shower....thats why I like fresh towels.
its the dryness !!....and I am not gung ho to run to the laundry to dry our towels. (we will be staying in a studio);)

I said never, because when I'm in a studio - I'm not dragging towels around to the laundry.

In a room with a laundry, they might get done every other day, depending on how many people/extra towels there are. It really does depend on how well they dry - if they are moist too long they get musty smelling.

I said every other, but really, only if we need them. We don't tend to use all of the towels we are given.

Now, Disney-Kim-
Is there more than one way to use a towel?
other than to
Dry off

Just Kidding , of course

I voted every other day but in reality as often as needed. We bring large beach towels with us to use at the water parks so if we needed to we'd use those if the room towels were in need of a wash.
