So, following on from my last thread, how often do you visit DLRP? Several times a year? Once every few years? We went in 1999 then 2006 and then just got back again last week.

I want to go once a year though, not just every few years - pesky house with its money-sucking vortex :)

Hello :)

We've been every year the past 3 years, this coming trip will be our second one this year :cool1: As we have annual passes we need to get at least another 2 in before July 2009 (then we will have to renew............:lmao: )!

I only discovered DLRP in 2007 - and ended up going 3 times that year, including seeing Christmas season  .

I've been twice this year (done Halloween now too  ).

I'm only planning on once next year (but I think I said that for this year at one point), and once in 2010, when I want to go at the beginning of January to catch the end of Christmas season once more.

But I don't spend a lot to get there (we have APs), and theres only me and DD to pay for.

I aim to visit a Disney park each year, be it WDW, DL or DLRP. This year I have been amazingly lucky, after 4 years away I have 3 DLRP trips this year (2 were planned, one a prize trip with a fellow Disser.) Plus I went to Disneyland.

Twice in 2004, once in 2005, twice in 2007, no trip this year, planning for 2009.
Ideally I'd like to have 2 visits of 4 days/year. Failing that 1 visit of 4 or 5 days/year.
I found the 2 weekend trips last year absolutely shattering, must be my age :rotfl:

Not often enough!! :lmao:

We buy APs and try to get more than one trip out of them. We went three times in one year out of our first APs (Summer 2005, Christmas 2005 and Summer 2006).

We went last year for Halloween and got a Summer trip out of the same APs this year.

Our current APs expire tomorrow :sad1: :sad1: and I don't know when we will be going back to DLRP as next year we're going back to WDW but I hope it won't be too long.

I went to Disneyland California in 1997 and then had a huge gap, going to DLRP in Jan 2005. I promised myself I would take each of my girls at around age 4 - I see this as a wonderful age to first experience Disney. Eldest DD was 4 in 2005, middle DD will be 4 when we go in Jan 2009 and youngest DD will be 4 in Jan 2012... I'd love to go every year but we just can't afford it.:sad2:

I think thats a lovely idea though Joolz - milestone visits for each of your DDs:cutie:

Only discovered the magic of Disney in April this year but am going back again in 3 weeks, so that will be two trips this year and I plan to go at least once next year (have to take DS as I thought he was too young to go this year).

Thank you. I'm very in to 'equal treatment' and I want them to have the same experiences. Luckily so far we all love theme parks and middle DD has expressed her love of all things Disney! She is very girly and will love the Pink Palace!

I only discovered DLRP in 2006. Obviously, I always knew it was there but only had the real urge to go after I had the kids. I'd love to go once a year but I think hubby would rather we spend the money to go elsewhere (and I kinda agree with him!).

We went in Sept 2006, April 2008 and will be there again in December. We've managed to have 3 short holidays this year (Normandy in Aug) simply because we didn't do any long-haul breaks this year (I'm originally from Malaysia and hubby is originally from Mauritius) which eats up a great chunk of his leave (and money lol).

I doubt there'll be a trip to DLRP next year though :sad2: If only hotels weren't that pricey during the hols (and Eurostar tickets as well) coz I cld always take the kids with me for a long weekend at the very last minute.

We only discovered DLRP in September this year but we have another trip booked for December this year.

Hoping to get AP's next so will try and go 3-4 times a year if we get them.

I went at least once every year from 1992 to 1997, then again in 2000, 2002 and 2004. Then had a big gap until October this year and bought AP's.

We are going again in December for a weekend and then planning two more trips in 2009.

Littlemermaid, 6 trips in 12 months?! Ok, you win :)

Do AP's save you that much money then? I kind of wish I'd bought one now but I knew nothing about them until now, really. There was advert whilst we were there, which said 30 Euros plus your entrance ticket - that seemed a bit too good to be true (after all, they're 100+ euros, I think?) but I wish I'd investigated now.

I kind of wish I could go without the kids, too but I would feel SO guilty. I love to see DD's little face there, but it's not quite the same sitting on the carousel for the umpteenth time when you know you could be on BTM :)

The 30euros to upgrade to an AP was for the Francillien AP - which has 60 blackout days, and doesn't tend to give you many discounts on room only prices. It also doesn't allow you into the park for EMH unless you are staying at an onsite hotel.

Dream APs are the ones that tend to give you the best room discounts, shopping and restaurant discounts (plus freebies on left luggage, stroller hire etc), they have no blackout days either. They are the most expensive though - 179 euros per pass.

Through sponsorship, you may also be able to extend a one-year AP for an extra year for free too (thats what I managed to do with mine).

Its all about crunching the numbers - but then, when isn't it when planning a trip to DLRP :rotfl: ???

I've been twice this year. No more trips really planned until our Honeymoon there...!
