i a just curious as to how often people go to disney. ideally i would take the kids once or twice every year. but as a single mom, it gets quite costly. spending time here i feel like "everyone else" goes so frequently. im curious as to whether my perception is accurate or totally off.

so how often do you go?

Well, my last visit was 1990. So I need a choice for "once every 18 years." :)

No, seriously. Before that it was once every 4-5 years.

Once a year. This will be my fourth year in a row doing Disney. We stay for 10 nights 11 days and go all out. We fly down each time. If I was closer, where I could drive, I would go more often.

Before Disney, we vacationed with friends and went to Rehoboth Beach for 4 years in a row also. Hmmm, it must be something with the number 4.

If it was up to my wife, we would skip Disney for at least 4 years, but my daughter and I are hooked.

It really depends on proximity.

When I lived in SoCal, I lived 45 min. away. I had season passes and went every other week or so.

Now I live 8 hours' drive, but at least it is drivable. If we had to fly we wouldn't go much at all.

Right now we go 1 to 2 times a year. But we do it as cheaply as possible so that we can go more often. We stay off-site and eat in the condo for several meals.

The last few years it has been once a year. We just got back a few weeks ago, and the trip was so perfect and relaxing I want to go again real soon, maybe the end of August or in Sept., but I doubt I will get there so soon again, my family want to travel to other place, and I can understand that.

In 2007, we went 3 times...for a total of about 24 nights/25 days. :cool1:

In 2008, as of now we have 2 trips planned... 16 nights total. :yay:

All thanks to DVC!!

The last few years, it has been once a year, before that it depended on if I was pregnant and/or the ages of the children, etc.

We live in NY (and fly) but if we lived closer we would go more often... Disney is one vacation our entire family can agree on (little ones, teenagers, early twenty-something, and Mom & Dad).

Before all the kids were born or if the older ones (college) aren't going, we stay Deluxe, with hoppers, etc., if we're all going (a great way to re-connect) we stay Values, without hoppers, etc.

Since getting there is half the battle, we always stay at least 10 days.

Growing up, my family went once a year.

for us in '04 first time, 2005 2x and 2006 3x and '07 once and '08 once;but maybe I'll be able to fit in another visit!

We go at least once a year, usually in the winter. Last year we went twice :thumbsup2 Need to get away from the cold weather ;)
We are taking our first summer trip this year, when we get back I'll start planning our winter vacation :surfweb: Have too much leave accumulated and have to use it. DH doesn't care where we go as long as its far enough where my job can't call me in. :woohoo:

We usually go about 3 times a year. Last year we went 4 times, but this year we are going twice.

We only go once a year, but if we had more $ we'd definitely go more often. It's also tough travelling with a 4 yr old, a 3 yr old, and 10 month older. Hopefully it will get a little easier as they get older!

Before we had DVC we went every other year. Since becoming members we are able to go twice a year but we space it to where we actually go three times within 12 months to maximize our annual passes. If we lived closer we would totally go more often. Hopefully when the housing crisis ends we can move back to the east coast.

We average two to three WDW trips a year, and usually one Hilton Head trip in the summer, so I voted 3 or more times a eyar. DVC makes the big difference, of course. When I bought I knew we would most likely take the majority of our vacations at WDW or Hilton Head, and that has been the case. We probably go somewhere else as a family every two or three years.

We go every other year. If it was up to DH, we would only go every 4-5 years. Our next trip is this July. I'm already thinking of asking my mom if she want to go with me and the kids during their Spring Break in 2 years. My mom loves Disney as much as I do.

We have close friends who take their kids 2-3 times per year for the last 3 years (they're DVC owners). My kids don't understand why we can't go that often. They don't yet get the concept of having a budget.

We live in Florida, and when we had seasonal passes, we would go 6-7 times a year, one big trip and then long weekends. But we're now trying to get a handle on the budget, so I didn't renew the passes purposely. We've always had passes or leftover tickets, and for the first time in years, we don't have anything, so it makes it easier to say no when friends ask, as we'd have to buy tickets now. We went last May for a week and haven't been back since then, which for us, is a pretty long amount of time. Yes, I'm missing it, but I'm determined to get these bills paid off before we go back.

We've gone once a year from 1997 (skipping 1998) to 2002 when we got our first annual passes. Since then, we've continued to get APs and try to get 3-4 trips on the passes. We have a savings account where we each put in $10 a week, and any extra cash we get from things like bottle redemptions, rebates for stuff we've bought and other mouscellaneous stuff in the fund which over the course of the year pays for our passes, our DVC fees, airfare, car rental, airport parking and food at the parks so that it feels like we don't pay any out of pocket expenses except for souveniers....which of course can add up too...

How often do we, or how often do we wish we could? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Now that we have started with the kids we are trying to go every 1 1/2 to 2 years. Realistically that is often enough, but we are all such Disney nuts we would go every 6 months if we could afford to :lmao: .

Another single parent here. We go once a year as we live in Oregon so it's a BIG trip for us.

We go budget...value resorts, free dining, free fridge swaps, etc. We are extremely fortunate and do not to have to pay admission into the parks otherwise we could never afford it yearly.
