I actually don't feel the need to read a book to tell me how to live my life. I was raised by kind, hardworking parents that instilled strong moral values in me. That's what I live by.

I read it daily. I use a devotional along with it, and I have found the New Living Translation easiest to read and understand. I believe that Jesus is God's Son, the Bible is God's Word to us, and that the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. I am also not looking for a debate. There is nothing to debate.

. I believe in God and the Bible - but I never think to just pick up the Bible and read from it. I am a Catholic and DD is starting Catholic school next year - so we practice a religion - I just never think to read the Bible. This is something I actually would like to change in my life.Originally posted by snoopy
My general feeling is that if I get through this life acting in a way that is kind to other people then that will get me where I need to be in the afterlife.

If you don't read it, how will you know what God wants or expects?

I'm not sure about the rest of the Catholics on this thread, but we did very little Bible reading when I was in Catholic school.
) At the age of 6 I was told that I could go to heaven, but my mother could not. Not even sure if she could make it to purgatory. Lovely notion to put in a kid's head !
