You get an idea for a thread that could start a conversation-not serious at all. Then as you are typing, you start hearing posters in your head making remarks, analyzing, picking apart, criticizing and finally creating a big stink about an totally innocent thread..so you hit the "back" button and go find something else to do.

I must do it 2 out of 3 threads that I start. Now I am thinking about what will happen with this thread:laughing: I'm going to go ahead and post this and take my blows. Someone hurry up and employ Rule #1 so I can't back out!:thumbsup2

I'd reply, but I don't want to listen to people "making remarks, analyzing, picking apart, criticizing and finally creating a big stink about an totally innocent thread" or my post on here. I think thats what some people LIVE FOR on here. Kind of a sad life :sad1:

I will often start a thread and abandon ship. I also do that on replies. I'll even go so far as to modify it to get it just perfect then still hit cancel. Sometimes the potential fight isn't worth it.

I never start threads, because I think it would irritate me too much if they went off in some direction I didn't like. And of course once threads are posted they do seem to take on lives of their own! I have a blog, so thats where I post stuff when I want to control the direction that the discussion takes.

Howdy stranger, how are you?

You're afraid I'll post on your threads, aren't you?

:lmao:

Not just starting threads, but also answering them to. I can't tell you how many times I've started to answer a thread but just hit the back button instead.

::yes:: :thumbsup2

So basically what you're saying is that you have an inferiority complex and are hung up on what other people may or may not say? You know - there's medication you can take for that - although it works best in conjunction with therapy.. It probably stems from a childhood issue.. Were you a middle child? Yup - just what I thought.. Middle children are always treated differently.. And I suppose the spankings didn't help any either.. One would assume that all the money your parents shelled out for that fancy college education of yours would have boosted your self-esteem some, but obviously not.. You've just never felt like a special "snowflake" - have you? :( Plastic surgery might be the way to go.. Get a face lift - maybe some implants.. Your friends on Facebook will be so surprised when they see the new you!! However, there are dangers associated with Facebook - and I certainly hope you aren't "tweeting" - but - if you're over 21 I guess you can do whatever you want.. Just keep believing in Santa and you'll be fine!!!! :thumbsup2

Yeah...I myself, and probably others read here daily....and only post once in a while. People seem to be waiting to pounce on everything and everyone. It has become very predictable...more the rule now, and not the exception.

Ditto! I have MANY MANY times almost started a thread or almost replied to something and then I change my mind KNOWING that someone will read it the wrong way or "hear" it in the wrong tone, or have some reply that makes absolutely no sense in regards to what I just said. In "real life" I am the class clown, life of the party, have loads of friends whom I love and who love me....but I guess a lot of times my tones don't come off that way on the internet and people just assume I am a witch with a capital B. So 99% of the time I just change my mind and skip my posting.

I've deleted MANY replies for the same reason. I haven't started a thread in a long time for the same reason.

Yes, it is.

I've done that before! :rolleyes1

No you haven't

Good, busy you know the usual. How have you been?

No, you're not busy.

No sir. I DO NOT reply just to disagree with people!

:lmao: Only kidding everyone. I was saying on a post just yesterday that I only post on the days that I feel thick skinned. There are a lot of nice people on these boards but there are a lot of strong headed, must be right all the time people on here too and sometimes I just don't have the energy. I can't count the times I have thought about replying to a thread but I see too much potential to get pounced on so I don't.

No, C.Ann, the OP's problems do not stem from the fact that she is the middle child......They stem from the fact that the OP's own middle child is a sneaky, stealthy, accomplished liar. Sadly, the OP cannot see the truth. Little Liar comes home telling tall tales of the evil teacher and bullies at school and what does the OP do? The poor sap believes every word, despite the fact that it is common knowledge all children lie like a rug and those bruises on them don't mean a bully hit them......He is most likely a self-mulilator.

If the OP wasn't so wrapped up in hating her MIL (it's in there....just read between the lines) and being passive aggressive to her DH (again, it's there, it's just subtle) she would see that her child is as close to Damien as you can get. That boy scout, honor student facade means NOTHING...it's all an act put on to fool her. And boy is it working. Lucky for her, we're here to enlighten her. :thumbsup2
