How Often Do You Do A TS Breakfast?

DH and I are going to Disney in July, Monday-Saturday. We are scheduled to land at Orlando International at 9:05am, and will be using Magical Express. We will spend this day at Animal Kingdom. I'd imagine we'll either take pop-tarts or something to eat on the plane, or maybe check out the POR food court when we arrive. Tuesdays is set aside for MK, Wednesday for Epcot, Thursday for MGM, and Friday will be "park hopping" and Downtown Disney.

Currently, we have one TS breakfast scheduled, for Friday, at Chef Mickey's. Since we are staying at POR, I thought about booking an OOP for Boatwright's for Breakfast. BUT, I really figured July would be crowded and hot, so we'd probably want to get to the parks early and plan for a long day, rather than taking our time getting there and eating breakfast. Any opinions? We have TS dinners planned for Monday-Thursday.

Any opinions would be appreciated!

Oh, also wanted to add that we depart from Orlando International at 7:05 am, so breakfast on Saturday will definitely not be at Disney!

We used to always go in hot, hot august, no more, its dec. and april for us. But I agree with you, dont waste cool park time eating breakfast, the lines will be less, the temperature a little lower and everyone will start the day with a little more energy. Use your sit down meals for something nice and air conditioned. We usually did a lunch because it was cheaper and we asked for extra drink refills before we left and just put them into our rubbermaid drink bottle that we carried in our backpack. That lasted us all afternoon until we headed out of the parks for break time. Also the air conditioned break helped give us that extra boost to make it for a few more hours in the parks. Good luck.

We usually have one TS breakfast scheduled while we are there either a character breakfast or Spoodles (mmmm!). This year we are planning the Pirate Cruise for the kids so we are having a breakfast at the Grand Floridian while the kids are out scouting for treasure.

I would do your TS breakfast on a day you plan to be leisurely. Stroll around DTD catch the sites/entertainment (not rides) at EPCOT. I agree you should get to the parks early and prepare to leave early or hide out once the afternoon sun comes out.

We haven't done a TS breakfast since 2000.

That is also my thinking regarding TS breakfasts.

We are going in June. I know it will be hot and crowded, and I also know that our kids are better in the mornings. So, I decided not to schedule as many TS restaurants for breakfast. Last year, I think we had too many, and it really seemed to cut into our peak park touring time.

I realize not every family is like this, but we seem to do best when we grab something quick (like Pop Tarts & cereal) in our room & then tour the parks from opening to lunch. By lunchtime, we're ready for nice & relaxing break, so that's when I have a lot of our TS meals scheduled. Then, after lunch, we can either do a few more things in the parks or go back to our cabin for rest/swim/etc. I don't have as many TS dinners scheduled so we don't have to rush off anywhere to dinner & then have dinner cut into our evening hours. For this same reason, I try to only schedule 1 TS meal/day.

I currently have 3 TS breakfasts scheduled: Donald's Breakfastasauras (this is on our AK day, & I'm worried about this breakfast since it goes against my natural instincts for us when it comes to touring the parks but I felt like my DS needed a special meal for him since I've got 2 princess meals scheduled for DD), Princess Storybook (on our last full day), & Chef Mickey's (on the morning of our departure). And, honestly, I've thought about canceling the Donald's Breakfastasauras & the PSB breakfasts.

I have 3 TS lunches scheduled: CP, GG, & CRT - and all three of these are scheduled for our heavy park touring days.

And I have 4 TS dinners scheduled: LTT (for our arrival night), Mama Melrose's (FDP), San Angel Inn (for DH on Father's Day), & WCC (our last night).

Anyway, I agree that, for us, breakfasts seem to take away too much prime park touring time.

Our family usually only does one TS breakfast per trip. We are a quick breakfast in the room family so we can get to the parks early.

Rationale?

We like to tour early to get a jump on those who sleep in. ;) Our breakfast day is usually a day after a late night out, like to see Wishes at MK. That way we can relax and sleep a little later.

I usually schedule the ADR for around 9:30 or later depending on where we have to get to! A WCC breakfast at the WL where we were staying was just a short walk from our room.

We'll be there 11 nights/12 days in July. We have four ts breakfast scheduled: CP (8:05 before the MK opens) so we don't lose any park time
PSB (8:35) we'll be done fairly early and not missing too much
Boatwrights - we're doing this on a non-park, relax at the resort day
Ohana - (8:30) we're doing this on our last day before we head
over to HRH.

We don't do TS breakfasts. We grab a bite in the room and head to the parks early. We like to do TS lunches, gives us a break mid day to refresh, and we can walk it off all afternoon. The food is so good, and often rich, so we don't like to "pig out" too late in the evening. We grab CS for dinner for the most part. Next trip we won't have the dining plan (dd is a picky eater and will be and "adult", so it won't be worth it), but will have the dde. So lunches are more cost efficient, as well, but most of the same dinner offerings, espcially for the buffets. :goodvibes
