Yes, it's a silly Saturday question, but I was bustling about doing laundry and cleaning my bathrooms and I got to wondering how often other people clean. I tend to be tidy and will throw in the odd load of laundry during the week. But the weekend is when I actually break out the cleaning products and do a good clean.

For my "good clean" I usually wash the floors, do a through vacuum (rather than a quick one, which usually gets done half way though the week) where I move the furniture to get under it, I do all the laundry including the sheets and towels, clean the bathrooms and all the mirrors, and dust everything. The kitchen is DH's domain, so he does all the cleaning in there (and the cooking!). Other than the laundry, I usually spend two to three hours cleaning on the weekend, almost always in one solid block.

Since I have the weekends off, I clean my home and do my laundry then.

I am a morning person. So if it doesn't get done by the early afternoon, it ain't gettin' done:rolleyes1.

More than I like! heck with 4 kids there is always something ready to be cleaned :upsidedow Like right now there are dishes calling my name :headache: I vacuum every day, laundry everyday, kitchen floor every other day although I could do it everyday because little feet are gross its a never ending cycle! I clean... they destroy  I love em... :goodvibes

I usually do the "big cleaning" every Friday morning. I straighten up, wipe down the bathrooms, etc., pretty much every morning and once a week I clean really well. Like wdwmom2, by early afternoon, I've had it!

I used to do one big block of cleaning on Fridays, but I hated spending 3 hours doing that. Now, I break down my week, and everything gets really clean but it only takes about 15 minutes.

Monday--Bathrooms (daughter's and guest)
Tuesday--Entryway, Porch, daughters' rooms and their laundry, vacuum basement
Wed--Den/living room, wash dog bed
Thurs--Master bedroom
Friday--Master Bath, mop
Saturday--kitchen
Sunday--Take a break

I do my laundry and my husband's on an "as needed" basis.

no set schedual. just do it on an on-going basis.

we gets lots of dirt/dust (rural living) so vacuuming, sweeping or dusting may need to be done daily depending on weather it's been wet or dry outside (love that rain cuz it cuts down on the dust).

mopping-at least once a week, but if something spills or gets tracked in it gets cleaned then.

laundry-as needed. the laundry baskets are in the laundry room. when one has enough for a load it get's run.

bathrooms? since i keep cleaning products in them they get cleaned throughout the week.

a DEEP clean for me involves stuff like cleaning all the windows/sliders and such. that's not terribly often b/c with the dust/dirt outside cleaning the inside does'nt make a difference unless weather/dust wise you can do the outsides and they will stay done for more than a day.

If the dust monsters under my couch are any indication, then probably once a year. :lmao:

I don't know, probably once a week or so. I miss places and I'm not real organized about it. I wish I could get myself into a routine with it, but basically I just let it go until it bothers me -- especially dusting. I'd rather do anything than dust.

Boy, I'd love to have you come clean our house. Just once?? It seems like I can dust today and it is all back again tomorrow!

Cleaning what's that? :lmao:

No I usually clean when needed throughout the week, like throwing in loads of laundry or running the dishwasher. For things like cleaning the bathroom, mopping the kitchen, dusting, and vacuuming that gets done Saturday mornings. I usually change sheets on Sundays when I vacuum my room.

Pretty much every day, all day...LOL.

With a 2 and 3 year old I'm constantly vacuuming the floor, wiping down the table and picking up after them. Laundry is done as I have a load or I wouldn't be able to keep up with it.

My "big" cleaning (dusting, bathrooms. etc.) is done once a week.

Our vacuum cleaner is broken and I'm getting a good one when we get our tax refund. I feel like the floors are awful and it's kind of demotivating when it comes to the rest of the cleaning.

I usually do a good scrubbing once a week except the kitchen is always clean.

I'm lucky in that my wife and some others take care of it. I never have to clean. The house is kept very clean.

its not really on a schedule here. DBF and i split up household chores

i vaccum, do laundry, and dust. he washes dishes, cleans the litter box, and takes out trash. we work together on the kitchen and bathroom. i usually do random straightening up, where things get left where they don't belong.

we live by ourselves in a small apartment, and we don't have children, so cleaning isn't a huge task for us, so we don't have to schedule it. we just do whatever task needs to be done when we notice it.

I clean once a week. When I'm working, it's usually on the weekend. When I'm not working I do it during the week. I also generally do laundry all at one swoop once a week as well. I prefer to just keep it cranking out and get it all done.

My whole family is good at "tidy" so I can get away with skipping a week if I have to and no one can tell the difference.

The biggest daily thing is just keeping the dishes done and the kitchen tidy - especially the counter where we deal with incoming mail etc.

I clean a little each day. Laundry get done when needed. Our kitchen and bathrooms are priority and cleaned every day. I think with the bathrooms and kitchen, that if you clean a little each day, you won't get stuck with built up gunk that takes more scrubbing. The floors are done on the weekend or when needed. I have 2 dogs and 2 kids, so the house needs upkeep all day long.

I try and keep up throughout the week, do a little something every day, so I don't spend hours in the weekend catching up.

I follow the Fly-Lady system. I'm a morning person and spend about 15 minutes every day doing some kind of cleaning activity. The one exception is vacuuming. I have a deep obsession with it. I am currently drooling over the Dyson and dreaming of all the stuff I could vacuum with it.

I straighten up each day and clean the entire house once a week. This includes dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms (sinks, tubs, shower, toilet). I run the dishwasher a couple of times a week and do laundry twice a week. I tend to mop every other week.
