I let anyone who wants to give me a quote, but so far, no one has been able to beat what we have with State Farm.
Thanks for all the feedback, guys. Yeah I could definitely understand staying if I had an agent I had a relationship with or anything, but that's not the case here. It's just such a savings to go with Geico, and I made sure the coverage was exactly the same when I got the quote. If it was $10 a month or something then I'd let it slide, but a $40 a month difference is a lot.
I've had Geico on and off for the last 19 years. The annual increases have been modest and I was at fault for 1 accident 13 years ago and my premium didn't change and they were very easy to deal with. Can you come back in a year and let us know how high Geico has shot up your premium? Or alternatively, if it remains the same savings or has dropped? I've read reports of how they give a low ball quote and a year later it's back up to market price.

Might wanna call them... Recently opened up to anyone who served honorablyI used to have USAA insurance, but then I moved to Michigan and they would not continue my insurance since I was not active duty (have USAA through my grandfather). I was really sad because I loved USAA. My rates were amazing. USAA recommended that I get insurance from Progressive, so that is who I am with. The rate wasn't as good as what I was gettting from USAA, but I have been happy with the service. I now have 2 cars and a homeowners policy. Since Dh just got his car, we are doing Snapshot discount, just driving my car and letting his sit to maximize the discount. The initial discount is at 10%, but I am hoping it will go a bit higher for the final amount. Then we will use it on my car, letting it sit to max the discount too.

I believe u would qualify under new rules. Because it was for anyone who served honorably and their families.. What the commercial said.I never served. I have "inherited" USAA through my grandfather. I had insurance when I lived in Texas, but they have rules that will not allow me to receive insurance in Michigan.

Did you become a USAA member through your grandfather? Usually becoming a member enables you to keep the insurance.
My ex son in law has USAA insurance because he was married to my daughter and her father was military. He became a member by being able to open a banking account, if I recall. He was able to keep his accounts and membership after divorce.
I have had a checking account with USAA since I was 16. I had USAA insurance when I lived in Illinois, Iowa and Texas. When I moved to Michigan they said that insurance rules in the state would not allow me to carry USAA insurance in Michigan unless I was active duty, retired or a dependent of someone who was active duty or retired. It's something about Michigan in particular. If I moved back to Texas, I could get USAA insurance again.
I rate shop annually. Have been with Geico for a while though.
