I am going to Disney next week for a last minute getaway after finals with my DBF. I really had my heart set on eating at either Ohana or Le Cellier one night, but obviously they are full.

My question is, how often and when do you start calling in hopes of getting a cancellation/opening? Also, if I talk to the concierge at the resort (CSR) on the first day, are they more likely to have openings?

Right now I have Narcoosee's and Chefs de France. Are these good choices? My boyfriend hates seafood, but are the steaks at Narcoosee's still good? :scratchin

Sorry for all the questions...I'm trying to make this trip perfect (although it is last minute) because it is my DBF's first time staying on property AND eating at a Disney TS!!!! ::MickeyMo

Narcoosees has great non-seafood offerings. You will really like Narcoosees.
Not sure about how often to call. My guess is try at 7:00am each day. Try when you get there and try the day of. People do cancel due to unforseen events that prevent them from making the ADR.

Well, I call constantly when I need a hard-to-get restaurant. For this trip, I made all my ADRs at 90 days except for one dinner. I've been calling all the time to get Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner at a reasonable hour. I've had the best luck early morning or very late at night. Yesterday at 8am I was able to get a 5pm dinner at the WCC! :yay: Seriously, I have the number on speed dial and whenever I have a few minutes I call.

If you are determined and make a game out of it (or should I say make it a mission! :rotfl2:) you will get what you want.

I had to do the same thing back in Nov. We added DxDDP two weeks before our Thanksgiving week trip. I was calling non-stop and I was able to get Le Cellier for lunch, Chef Mickey's for dinner, Ohana's for dinner, etc... All the popular ones. People DO cancel and change their plans, BUT the reservations go FAST.

Any downtime you have, just call. It's annoying but it does pay off!

Lots of luck! :wizard:

As for Narcoossee's, it's our favorite restaurant on WDW property! They have a wonderful steak your DBF will enjoy.

I haven't been to Chefs de France, but heard it's a hidden gem.

If I were you, I'd ask the concierge when you arrive, but I would also continue to call each day or check when you're at the parks. I don't think the concierge can pull any strings, but I could be wrong. We've had luck just using the room phone in the AM & asking for that night...or the next night...or the next night...however, we've had other times we we didn't have any luck at all...but you know what? The trip was still perfect because it was Disney!! :0)

Have a great trip!

I agree with the above. Keep calling whenever you have a free moment. You never now when theres a cancellation. Good luck.

I would call morning, noon and night every single day
