With the AP discounts that Disney released yesterday, I can't get any of the moderates (except CBR, which I don't want) for the full eight nights of my Dec 4th-12th trip. My choice then is to do a split stay with five nights at CSR and then three nights somewhere else. I have it narrowed down to three nights at Yacht Club, three nights at Boardwalk, or three nights at Royal Pacific. I love the location of the Epcot resorts, but since I plan to use Mears to go over to Universal anyway, I was thinking about maybe doing the last three nights I can't get at CSR over at RPR for the front of the line perk. How necessary would front of the line be for that time of the year?

Weekends it would be helpful much of the time. On the weekdays I doubt it would be considered absolutely necessary. Since you are going to Universal anyway, I would do it. Nice hotel and you can't be a leisurely stroll or boatride to the park. :)
