I'm a new member here and I was considering having a Disney wedding. I saw the prices, but was just wondering how much you guys paid for your wedding, what kind if was, and what you can do to make it alittle less expensive? I am just dying to ride away in Cinderella's Glass Coach..so that is a definate MUST for me.

We live in PA, so we would have to ask everyone to pay for their own plane ticket, but since my boyfriend is in the military (currently deployed to Iraq) we could probably get a descent discount on flights.

How much of a discount do they offer for hotel rooms? And park tickets? Anything you could tell me regarding your experience with rates and how much you spent would be great.

Thanks in Advance!

Hi... my name is Jamie and we are getting married in 8 weeks!! We are having a custom wedding with approx. 100 guests. We are getting married at the Wedding Pavilion and having the reception at the Boardwalk Resort.

As far as cost goes, it will really just differ with each person. It would depend on everything from food choices, cake choices, and extras... etc.. etc..

We are spending approx $20,000 to Disney, and that does not include the flowers, photography, and videography b/c we are not using Disney for that. That is basically the cost of the ceremony, entertainment, food, open bar, cake, and any fees. I am sure I forgot some stuff too, but just to give you an idea.

Hope this helps!

We spent about $25,000 to Disney. That figure doesn't include photography, my dress, our accomodations, or the rehearsal dinner. Things add up quick, especially the extras. Cinderella's coach alone will set you back $2,500. I know other brides have been able to have absolutely gorgeous weddings, and still stick close to the Disney minimums. A lot depends on where you want to have your reception and your guest list. If you go to the new Disney wedding website, you should be able to get a better handle on costs. And ofcourse there is a ton of informationon on this board! Have fun planning!

WOW!
my wedding is only costing $2,350!
that isn't including the hotel, we are waiting for discounts but for 6 nites at POR it will most likely be around $600.
oh and we are having an intimate wedding at the wilderness lodge with 12 guests.

also, cinderella's glass couch is (i believe) only available for the wedding pavilion location near the gf.

try www.yourfairytale.com which is a unofficial wedding website by andrea which gives a good cost breakdown of minimums, food menu & prices, entertainment selections & costs and some great wdw wedding ideas to toss around like dessert parties. the dis forum and yourfairytale sites, which are both just great, really helped me make alot of my wedding decisions & gave me a better picture of what i was planning/getting.

our estimate as of now is about $32,000 with wedding costs (ceremony, food, entertainment, floral, reception, videography) accomodations for us & tickets (at the yc concierge) for our guests (which we have paid for them as a means to cut their costs) and some extra's like our welcome dinner, rehearsal breakfast & a dessert party.

Just wanted to say that this isn't the case Cinderella's coach can be used at The Yacht Club. It's the distance travelled that is limited for example you couldn't have the ceremony at the WP and then have the coach take you all the way back to say The Boardwalk. The coach comes in at approx £2,500.

I'll search for my budget and then post again what we spent with Disney.

OK I found my stuff on pricing we were a weekday daytime wedding so we had a lunch for 40 guests - hope this info helps :

I spent with Disney about $15K and this included :

YCG wedding site including paianist and sound system ($2750)
Photo Assistant ($90)
Illuminations Dessert Party for 44 ($1800)
Pre-Reception Cocktail Hour - punch, soft drinks, passed appetizers for 40. ($1600)
Reception for 40 - wine, champagne, 4 course meal & hosted bar ($4900)
Wedding Cake ($510)
Mickey, Minnie & Chip'n'Dale ($1810)
Cosmotology for 4 people including bridal trial run $475)
DJ ($1170)
Towncar ($21)

I think we did quite well but I could have been a lot more frugal if we'd had to have been.

Now what my Disney Budget did not include are our outside costs :

Photography 10 hours ($2130)
Videography ($2120)
Floral ($2115)
Tuxes & Steaming ($700)
Favours for all our events ($500)
Unity Candle and holders ($100)

Oh and it also did not include our clothes, rings and honeymoon.

I just got off the phone with Disney and was quoted $3507 for 4 nights at the Caribbean in a King size bed and the wedding at Sunset Pointe. That is my minimum price with just the basics that Disney offers. We are taking our guests to dinner at Ohanas after our wedding which we figure will be about another $600.

After the Caribbean my (then) DH and I will move over to Pop Century to stay by some of our guests. We debated about staying at the Poly or AKL, but we have both been to those places and decided that we would rather spend the extra money on doing more fun stuff. We will pay $1101 for 4 nights 5 days there, with 5 day park hoppers and the dining option. Basically the whole thing will end up costing us around $5000-$5750 when you factor in plane tickets and other meals. Not too bad for a wedding/vacation with family and friends!!

Thanks for the help everyone!

Approx how much are rooms in August? I know that they are different for each "Resort" but just in general. I stayed at Caribean Beach for my Senior Trip in High School and I absolutely LOVED it there. Especially walking out of the room and having the "beach" right there.

it looks like april 17th through august 27th is considered regular rate for the value, moderate (caribbean beach) & wl, ak lodges. in birnbaums 2005 wdw is says regular rates are $99-111 for value, $149-165 for moderate & $239-300-385 for the lodges. although i have seen cheaper prices & discounts during the summer months. you also get discount room rates w/ your wedding depending on package/#rooms, etc.

august 28th - october 4th says value season for the same above resorts. so it probably depends on your dates & deals available.

me & hubby vacationed in august over labor day weekend back in 2002 & stayed at the caribbean, we had a blast although the weather was very hot & wet. best of luck with your future wedding & plans!

Wow...that's really not that bad. So if my guests decided to stay there for 2 nights inside WDW (instead of getting a local hotel room) they would really only be spending approx $200 and then about $200 for each plane ticket. Hmm...maybe that's do-able. Or I could start saving my pennies now so that I can pay for the rooms..haha.

We had an intimate add-on with about 10 guests. We spent less than $8,000 for the wedding, Cinderella's coach, 10 night stay at CBR for us, Magic Kingdom pics, hair/make up, flight for us, etc. I will say that the coach was absolutely fabulous. I know it goes to a couple locations, but not all locations.

I would absolutely love to have a wedding at WDW, but I don't think that alot of his family would be willing to go down there (We live in PA). It is our wedding, but it is also very important to us to get married in front of our friends and family. Any ways that we can cut corners, in order to be able to maybe help out with flights and hotel rooms for guests, are greatly appreciate. Thanks so much for all of your help everyone!:)

Another thought is to have a small intimate wedding at WDW and a huge reception at home. We did this because many people wanted to go but couldn't. They were happy with the reception.

I'm not sure if you know this already or not, but it's something Disney doesn't advertise either. If you pay an extra $100/person, you can have up to 15 people total at an intimate wedding (13 guests + bride & groom), and I believe that children under 10 are not included in that 13. Just a head's up in case your immediate family fits that bill.

princessamy06, just so you know with airfare alot of airlines now offer group code rates which save the flyers 5-10% off total roundtrip fare. i know from shopping around with some airlines in my area american airlines, northwest, delta/song, united/ted & us airways offer these group discounts. we've normally flown southwest (a budget carrier) to orlando and they have always been cheapest about $150 pp. but have had one way deals for $55 from chicago. so checking out budget carriers like southwest or in your area (maybe jetblue or spirit) will help guests with airfare costs as their normally cheapier than the main carriers.

best of luck with your plans!

We will be at WDW in 3 weeks. We had planned on a wedding for late 2005 near home, but with our vacation coming up, we are considering a last minute wedding at WDW (or nearby). To satisfy curiousity, does anyone know what is the ground level cost, with no frills at WDW? We would not require lodging, food, cake, music, etc. On the WDW web site I have seen prices starting at $3,000, but was wondering if WDW will go below that. We would be looking at a very short, simple ceremony, not picky on site..as long as its at Disney. Our main objective would be getting married at Disney World, but as inexpensive as possible.

Another thought would be arranging for a J of P from outside the world to meet us at the parks for a quick ceremony. Wondering if Disney would frown on this idea.

Any thoughts, suggestions or links for sites with the requested info. would be most welcome and definately appreciated.

Thanks to all. The DIS has been great for WDW planning.

We had a custom with 23 guests and spent about $18,000 on absolutely everything from dress to cake. About $12,000 of that went to Disney.
