How much would you save?

I noticed on the FreeDP offer that you have to stay in Mod. resort to get the basic DDP and in a value you get QSDP. I know you can upgrade and stay in a value but would the price be that much difference after the upgrade. Or would it be worth it to stay in a Mod.

my bf and I are staying at POP for 7 nights with free QSDP and upgraded to the DDP for a cost of 10$ each per night so $140 total! our total for resort, dining upgrade and tickets was 1500. for us to stay 7 nights with free DDP at CSR, it would have been 2104 (we save 604) and to stay at POR or POFQ, it would have been 1868 (we save 368)

since we absolutely love POP, we would not upgrade to a mod and rather save the money. we've stayed at CSR before and while it was nice, it would not be worth the extra 604$ since we aren't at the resort all that much except to swim at night. we also didn't make use of the fridge, which the mods provide.

It's entirely up to you and what accommodations you like when staying at a resort. My father liked to mention the fact that we could save more money staying at a value because all we're doing is sleeping/resting there, nothing more. While what he said may be true, I decided to splurge because I've never stayed at a mod or deluxe resort AND it's my 21st birthday!

The price differences I can't tell you since I never really compared the plans. But again, it all boils down to what you think would make the most of your money. The fridge is a nice option since you can gather breakfast items the night before and keep it overnight, avoiding rush hour in morning! DDP seems perfect too if you plan on eating at a lot of character meals!

THanks Johamna great info I would rather save and we love the values ours is Sports but we have never stayed at Movies. POP was cool my DD really liked it and more variety at food court. Stayed at ASM? whadda ya know about it? I agree with thomasina's dad we only really sleep there. When me and DW are empty nesters we will lavish ourselves.

we've never stayed at ASMu but hope to eventually!.. it's the next value we want to try..we would like to try all of the values at least once. however, we stayed at POP during our May trip and loved it so much that we decided we HAD to go back! so we'll be there in Oct. ASMU will have to wait

It would be hard for us to go back to one of the other values after staying at POP.

I have had great trips in a value, just as I have had when staying in a mod or deluxe.
Which level of resort we stay is based on cost and how much we plan to use the room/resort. If we will just be sleeping and showering at the resort, then normally we stay at a value.
Sometimes the price difference just isn't worth having a little nicer pool if DH will be in it just an hour anyway, if at all.

we too are staying 8 nights pop with upgrade to DDP [extra $160]...i have stayed at mod and deluxe resorts before, but my DH LOVED pop so much that we are staying there again this time, and the savings we have made compared to club level wilderness lodge that i wanted to do,have allowed us to take a 4 night disney cruise as well......so saving over $2000 goes a long way.

and since it costs so much to get to WDW, we want to do as much as we can with the resources we have.....
