How much will we need...

to take for food per day for our family? Here's our info:

-2 adults
-2 small children who eat like birds and will most often eat from our meals or snacks that we bring along
-breakfast in the room each day
-lunch or dinner in the room some days (in a DVC room)
-no sit down restaurants except for one character meal and one date for the two adults


I know that budgets vary but I'd love to hear some estimates from others.

Hi--Have you checked out www.allearsnet.com ? There are complete menus from all park restaurants on there that would really help with estimating costs.

Doing the same type of eating as you, we have averaged $35 per day, but that did include, 3 character meals and 1 child who had to pay at them. (Also had a 1yo and 2yo.) The younger two did have some kid's meals at counter service, but not much. We just found at those ages that they did much better at meals in the condo where we could serve easy food that was not so fast food-like. We did do the meal vouchers at AK and those were quite a treat. We also ate offsite a few times and had lots of mickey bars, popcorn, water etc.
